Speaking of paint.....
My Cobalts paint is like layer of 1 inch steel compared to my Acura before this. Talk about paint chips! It was black too.
95 Grand Am... better than the Acura but still chipped like crazy.
My friend has a Dodge Stratus R/T... 2003 and the roof is showing it's primer underneath. Dash is warping... it was garaged too.

If you can prove that I said I was being cheated and am whining then I will shut up. But I'm not. I said one thing about the paint not holding up as well as I thought it should, and the plastic piece on the top of the shifter coming off....Not whining, simply making a point about the TWO problems with my Balt....Also if you go and read the following post I made you will see that I even said I can't complain about the car because all in all it has been a good car. Please read before making any other idiotic remarks.

yea, I never said Ford was great either
My sisters 97 Olds Cutlass (based off of 2 gen ago malibu) had some HVAC vents and other small plastic interior trim pieces warp when she was down in El Paso for a year. Too hot inside + too much sun = not good for interiors.

Alright smartass...you missed the point of the post. I was comparing the paint from the Cobalt to two other vehicles I have had for a longer period of time that have hardly any chips in the paint, but the Cobalt's paint chips fairly easy.
I keep forgetting about the idiots on this site now.

I can't comment on the paint of the cobalt since mine is still on order, but I just sold my 05 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon (nice car, but i got a minivan instead of it). It had horrible paint chips on the hood. At the same time that I bought that car, my father bought a similar Volvo. Anyhow, after 3 years, my car had tons of chips (I drive very conventionally), and my father's Volvo had none at all. I was rather envious. Any how, it's obvious that the paint process from company to company changes dramatically. My 97 Camaro Z28 had almost no paint chips either. I was hoping the 'balt would be the same. Sorry to hear yours is chipping.

Not every car that rolls off the assembly is perfect. Car will have defects because they are human made. There are plenty of people who have wonderfully working SS's who kick major ass. But I'm sorry to hear you got a bad one. And don't come on this site complaining about how bad the car is. Go complain on a differnt forum.

i blew my clutch at the drag races they towed my car from the track to pontiac and fixed everything under warrenty for me. i didnt pay a cent for anything. that right there will make my by gm cars forever. my car showed up at the dealer with the **** still on the windows and they still fixed it for me.
i have a 98 cavalier with 130k siting in my driveway the only thing i changed was a fuel filter battery and front tires. everything on that car is still what was put on in 98. tell me GM cant build a car.
