If you're airbox lid is tight you may want to examine the braided steel "breather hose" attached to intake tube to see if it's still "intact".

does anyone on this site besides a few of us know how to troubleshoot problems? dont know how u can ever fix anything without learning how to do it. troubleshooting 101. put ur stock filter back in and see if it goes away, if so, problem is with the filter or how u installed it, if not, problem is somewhere else.

made a vid

I can't find where the sound is coming from, it started to do this right b4 i changed my air filter, I went from stock to K&N...this didnt seem to make the problem worse, only louder...

Alot more pronounced the colder the weather is...today was about 40 degress, and engine was still a little warm from this morning.

Granted it doesn't get as cold as where you guys live but I to have the K&N airfilter with the stock airbox mod and on the few below 30 degree days we have had, I have not heard this or anything near it.

I live across town from you and I get the noise no matter the temp. I stuck my ear down in there and it is definitely a sucking sound coming from the snorkel that goes into the air box. It disappears as soon as the rpm's drop after the car warms up.

That is normal. What you are hearing is the turbo sucking in air.
