I have a raised redline in 1st and 2nd. Otherwise stock.

I'm not sure what exactly the benefit is if you are otherwise stock. I find that the power is lacking in that rpm range.
However, perhaps others who have breathing mods might chime in with their input.

The only reason i would raise the rev limiter is to finish the 1/4 in 3rd gear....otherwise there is no point.

Agreed. Dynos with aftermarket tunes show the severe dropoff the LNF suffers above the 6000ish rpm range. Pushing the redline to 7000 or so yields absolutely no gains over an upshift short of perhaps the strip where you have almost no choice but to hit 4th for a very short distance.

sounds like in order to achieve any use out of a raised redline, you'd need to get some cams with a better duration/lift

I have a 7000 rev limit, and it was the dumbest thing i have done to my car.... leave it at 6300, you wont make power past that with a stock turbo, and current tuning. Leave it at 6300... in 2nd 3rd and fourth it makes you no power what so ever... not worth the hassle

you could put it at 6500, just so you can have time to shift at 6300 and not bounce off the rev limiter.

I thought about that also, and you can finish the 1/4 at 106-107mph instead of 103-104

I have mine raised to 6600 in all but 3rd where it is 6800 for the sole purpose of being able to trap in 3rd gear. I lose power, yes, but I dropped over .2 sec when i don't have to shift.
