ZFR Backorder Info

As many of you know, we are experiencing a supply delay on the Borg Warner end of our ZFR turbo setup. While we were staying ahead of orders well for a couple months, we believed that we would sell several of these on Black Friday. We ordered more parts a couple weeks ahead of time in anticipation. Unfortunately, BW has not shipped to our supplier in a few weeks. We also ended up selling a lot more than we thought we would on BF. That has left us with quite a few back-orders. We are hoping to hear some good news soon concerning shipments of more EFR parts, at which time I will update this thread. In the mean time, I apologize for the delay. I really thought we had this covered ahead of time. I was wrong.

Selling more than you anticipate is both a blessing and a curse. Good luck.

Matt, i have two questions, I'm getting ready to order a ZFR within the new few weeks, it says they are in stock on the site, has anything changed, has BW started supplying again?

And one more, the LNF downpipe, I am ordering with the spun metal cat, and would love the V band setup to switch out for after E-check, does it automatically ship with the offroad section if i order it with the spun metal cat, or is there something else i have to do? Thanks.

We are still waiting on our parts order from BW. I will post here when we are notified of a shipment.

The modular option is not included on the downpipe page. You could custom order one from us.

We like their products and Justin is great to deal with. We had a project underway with them and sent them 10 housings to get started. Unfortunately, the engineer over there that needed to be involved either doesn't like us or just doesn't want to be involved in a joint project. A couple things needed to be changed on our housings to mate to one of their existing exhaust wheels and when we talked to him about it at PRI a couple weeks ago, he acted like he didn't want our business. He couldn't give me any straight answers about how we needed to modify the housings. His only answer was to have them start from scratch so that we buy the housings from them. We ended up agreeing that they should just send the housings back to us and that we would go elsewhere. When we walked away, the guys with me both asked wtf his problem was. He really was that rude and un-interested in working with us. Borg Warner, on the other hand, were all friendly and helpful and they were pleased with the amount of turbos that we are buying from them and apologetic for not keeping up with orders right now. And that is coming from a company realistically 1000 times the size of Precision Turbo. Seems strange...

Good for BW, they deserve the business.

What does ZZP do with the stock exhaust housing on the EFR’s that you take off? Does Borg Warner let you order them without the exhaust housing?

Yes, I actually do have an update. BW had problems with their bearing housings, but the issue has been resolved and they shipped out to our distributor a few days ago. They should be on the way to us Wednesday or Thursday. Of course the holidays will slow things down a little as well, but we are going to assemble complete turbos and get kits shipped out as quickly as possible. Once again, I apologize for the delay. This was definitely a case of bad timing considering how many we sold in a short period of time.
