ZZP catless DP is coming!

My ZZP Catless DP should be in today. I'm trying to find out what socket sizes do I need to remove my 2 catted DP with and wrench to remove the o2 sensor. The thing I have right now is a jack and couple tools in the garage. Do you guys recommend using jackstands?

No you should be fine if your jack fails. Cobalts sit a good 2-3 feet off the ground

Just get a metric socket set. Won't need anything bigger than 18

And for the Oxygen sensor you can just leave it on the downpipe cause you wont be reusing it. But if you really want to take it off. Go to advance and they have a O2 sensor socket that works and its like 10 bucks can come in handy.

ZZP's dp is awesome, you will love it

Most any dp's for our cars take us no longer then 45 min to do it on jackstands or ramps

IIRC, 15 mm deep well socket and a few long extensions. Drop the front end of the DP first, makes getting the back bolts easier.

02 is 7/8" I think.

Use ramps or jackstands. Never go under a car trusting a jack. **** happens.

I got the o2 bung from ZZP to reuse my factory sensor. So I need a 15mm deep socket for all the bolts, couple of extensions to get the upper left one off, and a 7/8 wrench to take off the o2 sensor?

They are 15mm deep wells and then I recommend an o2 socket remover tool as to not twist the **** out of the o2 wires.

ramps make it easier... but jackstands will raise the car up more... I would use a jack and jackstands get it up as high as safely possible and go to town.

I did mine on a lift so it was easy as pie.

wtf?

I reused mine.

The o2 sensor is an odd size..they make a tool to remove it but I used a pliers clamp and removed mine. I suggest spinning the downpipe and not the o2 or the wires will bind up and wreck causing a cel code if not done gently.

ya use jack stands but leave your wheels under the car as well incase the jackstands fail.

15mm deep, like 3 or 4 extensions, swivel, 1/2" drive with 3/8" adaptor cuz i have alot of 3/8" extensions. and adjustable wrench for O2 sensor. Whats with these special ass tools you all talk of?

take nuts off dp-turbo, then i remove the exhaust hanger on catback, let the catback hang a bit so i can get to the upper 3 bolt flange, remove the 3 from DP-catback, put new pipe on. Easy.

so I need the 15mm for the bolts, 7/8 to turn the o2 sensor, and couple extensions to complete the job. I'll also post some pics up. I just recently open the box and love the craftsmanship.

you need to use the search bar and stop posting threads about something that already has several How-to's and countless threads ya ***

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lnf-performance-tech-153/all-you-need-know-about-downpipes-198998/
If you scroll to the bottom of the OP, which by the way that thread is stickied and easy to find in the section you posted this thread in, you would find this:

How do I install a downpipe?

You can either do it yourself if you have some mechanical abilities and some basic tools (Here is a link to a very good how to https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-guide-43/how-cia-down-pipe-warning-big-pics-160726/) or take it to your local exhaust shop.

The factory rear sensor only tells you if the Cat is working the 02 bung they put on is for a wideband.

Your going to throw a code unless you get it tuned out.

thank you for finding that, I already got a list put together to do some shopping. probably gonna use ramps to make my life easier to go under the car, if not jack stands.

Yeah I know because that happened to me

I put it on and for about a month I didnt have any 02/cat codes or nothing

But after that I threw a code and then it would shut off and then come back on, right no it's on for good.

But I'm getting it flashed tonight and haveing the code removed so everything should be good

But I agree the angled does help but it's not always a solution to the cel being off.

I'm working on it today, letting the pentrating oil do its thing, then I'm back to work to unbolt things. the top bolt is killing me on top of the resonator. I unhooked one hanger and can't get the bolt to turn and I wish I had someone who has done it before to make my life easier the next time I do it by myself. do I have to unhook all the hangers? I pushed my stock dp little back to get some room to work with. Using 1/2 to turn and 3/4 to work with. Holy **** Batman! I'm done. Car is running with no CEL and haven't tooken for test drive because I'm changed colors during the aftermath. Freakin hot as hell. Glad this is done for awhile.
