thanks I love the way the IC looks compared to the treadstone, and also its performance is potentially better. I looked at my bottom lip and i have mad scratches all over it and i am not lowered. Do you think it would scratch or crack the intercooler potentially? Also, with the ZZP IC, would this work with my Injen hot side or will I need to buy all new hot and cold side piping as well as IC? Thanks

I have a steep driveway and don't scrape. It works with all piping. Mine is mated to CIA hot and cold side.

It should mount up to stock piping fine, only thing you might need is a different coupler. PM Matt, or email zzp customer service, they should have the answer.

Out of all the IC's I love the Treadstone look the best. ZZP, MPx and Hahn etc. all look the same and I like the fact treadstone doesn't cover the whole grill. That's a nice touch. I understand crazy steve looks similar, but since there's no fitment issues with treadstone, I chose them.

Personal opinion, I'd never buy ZZP intercooler. Colorado is known for bad roads. It's just the way it is, we get 50 degrees winter days and 0 degrees at night, that's a 50 degree drop within 24 hours, that can't be good for anything outside especially roads. Now I understand no one has had a issue, but there's also very few people with ZZP IC in Colorado, there was one I knew of and he said he'd never drive his car in the winter.

Our roads have dips all over the place. I truely feel if I bought myself a ZZP IC, I'd be the first to report IC failure and I'd lose $350 and ZZP won't warranty it, why would they, I was the one that rammed into a 130 degree angle. Just a guess on the angle, but seriously, there's some steep inclines/declines here. Even intersections are treacherous for lowered cars. I can't tell you how many times I see lowered WRX's and Evos exhaust spark from hitting the ground on intersecions when they're flying across the intersection. Sure this may not be the front, but I don't take the chance, I don't fly across intersections that I worry about.

I feel ZZP makes good stuff and everything no matter the product or who it's from has a flaw one way or another and the rewards are great, it's up to you to decide which weighs more. Reward or the Flaw. For me, ZZP's lower hanging IC was a risk I didn't wanna take so I choose TR8. TR8 isn't flawless, but I can live with them.

i have the treadstone and dont have a issue from it at all.. im not gonna lower my car becuase the last lowered car i had was a pita. half the times here you gotta go around or they have huge ass potholes. a zzp ic would be damaged here. especialy if i forget to dodge a pothole. The treastone is high enough i dont have to worry about it.

It's Touson

I wanna go to AZ, seems like a cool place, anyway what are your weather drops from high day to low nights. I imagine it's the same in the summer, 100 degree days and 50 degree nights

Oh and lets say you drove drunk and forgot your driveway angle and took it straight on, how would your ZZP survive? Also you're on sportlines or pedders

How bout don't drive drunk, and drive like you give a **** about your car, and you won't have this issue. Any intercooler is bad if you are recklessly plowing into things.

Im stock height so I can plow into my driveway no problems

I want to go with zzp, I am actually from virginia. Currently live in charlotte, nc where the roads are the best, but hopefully i wont scrape. I scrap all the time at one place which i go a lot, which makes me very hesitant to buying the zzp. I like that the most though dont get me wrong. I wish the treadstone tr12 covered the whole hole for IC.

I know, I was just creating a scenario, as unrealistic as it may be. I drive with caution all the time, pot holes, dips, etc are top avoidance priorities for my day to day driving (and squirrels, they are suicidal here) but mistakes happen and I just wanna lower the risk so that's all I'm saying. ZZP I feel if I made a mistake it could be bad vs MPx or Treadstone. I'm not dissing on the quality, or saying anyone is stupid for getting ZZP. All I'm conveying is I personally didn't wanna take a chance. Risk or not in anyone's eyes, to me there's a risk and I didn't wanna take it.

This talk about IC's that cost most and are bigger means safer is stupid...

Whats that? A Hahn IC? largest IC in the market. Most expensive? Surely capable of handling 6000000whp?

What!?!?! No way? It blew>? must have been bottomed out......wait it wasnt"?!?!?! Must be the weld seams obviously.... NO?

Surely this car was making wayyyy more than 6000000whp..... ******* Hell, it wasnt? How much was it making? 401whp...on stock turbo and 75 shot of Nitrous. Clearly not a blown seam. You sure about quality when you buy something thats expensive?

Stop following the same trend guys and doing what the VW and Subbie people are doing by using Gianormous oversized IC's, especially on a stock turbo....It will break just like anything else.

A good solution for the STOCK turbo guys is something can be driven anywhere without fear of snagging it or destroying it. Also has to be something that can handle boost, aka not made of plastic..., is it important to fill up the whole grill area? no. Does it look awesome? People know what an IC looks like... if they cant see endtanks they might assume its a radiator or something cause most people are stupid lol. "But Cuda, about an inch of it is hidden behind the crash bar, that cant be good?" "I havent seen data thats told me other wise.... Besides these oversized IC's are more than 30% hidden behind the bumper and outside of the grill area... seems even less ideal to me.

If you get an oversized IC and really want to show it off, get an aftermarket bumper to go with it that has a large grill opening.. makes sense to me. problem is body kits are ugly on this car.

I think its just taller. Should be the same length since it needs the 45* elbows.

Sorry I didnt mean to vent in this thread.... that wasnt my intention. Just trying to bring alittle bit of light to this idea that people have about oversized ICs giving a feeling of safety.

These pics are from Oscar's car. 09Pssssshhhhhh I think is his name on here.

He was making 350whp and something just over 400trq. Now they dyno'd 400+ whp and 440trq

I will let you know I've been through two stock ICs. First one went when some idiots ladder fell off his truck. The car in front of me didnt brake, didnt give me any warning about what was happening... he just ran over it. twisted the ladder into a scary highway mess that I couldnt avoid. When I went over it, it split my front lip and caught the condense catcher plus lower portion of the IC. Folded the friggen think in half and luckily it still held boost for a week, lol. 2nd IC was fine since ive been way more careful now but Im tuned and ive seen the results of plastic endtanks...

ive never hit anything with mine. stock or treadstone but have been really close to hitting with stock. My car had a freak moment and i nailed it in a turn and it pulled me off the road after it came out the shop after only 6k miles. Luckily i hit the frame and not the intercooler. we have really crappy roads here in louisiana

you guys are pretty funny,

i dont know how everyone is afraid of something happening that has never happened. Statistically, you are more likely to win the lotto or get struck by lightening than have your zzp ic ripped off.

i admit i was skeptical at 1st too, but after hours of research i have not found a single complaint about people scraping their ic. Zoomer even said in this thread that if it is damaged due to low ground clearance he will fix or replace it for free. what more do you want?

i also dont see how everyone lives in "the worst road conditions". roads have to be better some places that other.

at the end of the day i wanted the best performing intercooler and if thats the zzp than so be it
