$25 intercooer pump.

Twas trolling my local wal-mart and happened apron a 500gph live well pump in the sporting goods section. I laugh at myself for even considering it ...then i say hell its only 25 bucks why the hell not.

I spliced it into the stock pump line with a dab of soldier and zipptied it to the front sub frame. It started off as a project out of boardem but its been on the car for a little over 2 months. id love to do a flow test and chek IATs to see how it stacks up against the stock pump. and maybe fashion a proper mount for it. i dont expect it to last long, it was never design to deal with heat but so far so good, just trying somting diffrent lol

The stock one only pumps 317 GPH, so if that one's rated at 500 GPH I'm gonna assume you're undervolting it some amount?

ZZp tested the stock pump at 480PHM 8GPM free flowing 4.5GPM in the IC system
Id like to flow test this pump in the IC system , this pump doesn't seem to have as much grunt as the old pump so may have lost alot of flow due to the restriction of the stock ic system and the auxiliary HE. but i don't know if its worth the time if it doesn't turn out to be dependable.

Update ... the pump failed today. Big surprise right ? lol.
The pump still runs but it leaks. heat from the engine and pressure from one of the zip ties caused the body to deform which caused a small leak.

If it were mounted a different it may have survived ...but its not work a retest. made it 3 months tho...

Hmmm, just a thought but you could have put it after the H/E and that I think would have made it last longer since it would not have bin in direct contact with all the heat from the cooling system

It was after the HE. it was the ambient heat from the engine bay and being behind the radiator .The colent in the Intercooler dosnt really seem to get to hot, i take hotter showers lol.
