05 ss/sc question

Just picked up my 05 ss/sc on saturday. it was owned by a maryland state trooper before me and from what i can tell the only thing done to the car was an aftermarket grille put on it. But when i drive the car and really lay into it, it feels like the thing is pulling like a low 13 sec car. I have alot of friends with hondas that have gsr swaps, b16's, and all that crap that are running low 13/high 12 sec 1/4 miles and i can keep up with them and they tell me it feels the same way. havent had a good chance to look under the hood or car yet, but from a quick glance it all looks stock. If i take some pictures of under the hood and car and all would you all be able to tell me if you notice anything aftermarket? dont know too much about this car yet or what all can be done so any help is appreciated. thanks

it may feel that way, but i have a feeling it's stock. i came from a SLOWWWW car and used to think my SS S/C is alot faster than it really is.

how many psi is the boost peaking at? should be 12.5 for stock

do you have any bolts holding the supercharger pulley on? or any injectors that are not of a green color? if so, that is aftermarket and it is modded. if it is all stock...FACTORY FREAK FTW!

can get pics tomorrow. just ran out and looked, injectors are green and it does have bolts on the pulley. let me put it this way.. yesterday i had a 20-110 run with an 04 mustang gt with headers, x-pipe, full exhaust, and intake from what i could tell, and a porsche carerra 4 (roughly 13.1 sec 1/4 stock). stayed next to both of them with no problem at all. ive been in and driven some NASTY cars before and had an eclipse that was running 14.8's. this thing crushes the eclipse and is downright FAST. i can be at 20mph in 2nd gear and be up to about 100 in like 3 1/2 - 5 seconds depending on how good i can shift it (still getting used to the car, only had it 2 days.. this tranny is weird)

Could be some hidden things like a ported blower, dual pass, airbox mod, aftermarket pulley (no GM, and pressed on). Just some things to think about. The sooner you get detailed pics up on the site, the sooner we can find the obvious stuff ;-)

im finding something strange because you have the stock injectors that are pretty much maxed out from the factory, but you have a smaller aftermarket pulley and hub which requires new injectors and a tune.

There are 2 ways to find out if it's stock or not:
  • Dyno Chart
  • 1/4 Mile Slip (looking for mph here, not ET)

Let us know when you get them done ...

Does it rev to 7000rpm and have 4 bolts on the pulley?? if so more than likely a factory installed GM Stage 2 kit
