what shape pistons are they... im guessing wedged since were raising the compression cuz if they are going to raise your compression you might want to consider machining your combustion chamber and maybe doing a valve job.. and maybe new cams and lifters then youll be fine but your going to have to have a pretty stout exhaust system to handle this

yeah i'ld say 9.5:1 or 10:1, with f/i you don't want to go too high in compression. but you still want a good amount.

What would you speculate to be the smallest pulley you could run with 10.0:1 compression?

I see your point. would most likely be on a per car basis too most likely. And a bunch of other factors I'm sure.

3.1" no lower with a higher compression. You will run into heat issue's and the person running the 10:1 is also running cams so its more like a stock compression.

I would personally stick with 9.5:1 with the TVS if you are thinking of cramming some serious boost in there.

Not worth it for a blower. Boost /= power.

no.. but a man that wants 10:1 with a twinscrew is saying.. HEY I WANT POWER..

ill take .5 off compression and save myself a few HP and have much more realibility on the motor... if for a blower..

but i see turbo discussion coming soon.

newp. if i were to build a drag motor, it would be over 10.0:1 c/r on methonal and 50psi from a giant turbo

+1 I had 10:1, stock cams, 2.5 pulley, no cooling mods. Ran awesome.

Not saying I was pushing that much airflow, just meant my car was worse case scenario for an LSJ as far as heat, and it was fine.

i just find it funny people think lower compression is better for power.

Making the motor less efficient is not my idea of making power.

So the consensus is... stay at 9.5:1?
