With the added efficiency from the harrop I'd think you'd want factory or lower compression ratio not higher.

Um...safer...not better.

We will have an answer to this question later next week.
I was forced to go with the 8:1 pistons because Diamond didn't come through in time so we used my spare wisecos from the race engine.
I am scheduled to go to a test&tune next Friday and my_bd's Redline with the TVS is going too, so we can do some comparisons.

safer is not always what it seems. it is all a double edged sword.

For myself I don't need to push this setup to it's limits simply because of my "other" car.
I would have preferred the stock compression pistons instead of pullying down.
I am hoping this all works out nicely because if something goes wrong, I doubt the wifee will be to thrilled about me building another engine. Then again, there is the spare race engine.......

A friend of mine is running 10.5:1 with 2.8" pulley with the m62 blower, water injection and pump gas. His LSJ is in an Atom as well. he ran it at a track day recently and it did quite well. (passed the lotus 211 that was there ) he backed off the timing on the tune a little to avoid knocking

I'm very interested to here the results. Be sure to post them. Low compression TVS vs High compression TVS.

ok...... boost does not always equal more power... power is made from increasing ur VE ( Volumetric Efficiency) which can be done in several ways... ram air into the cyl ( forced induction ) or increase ur compression..... wut i would like to know is how reliable the 10:1 with the tvs would be... and how far could u push it boost wise.....

That's a bit different than with a harrop, especially if you plan on upping the ante boost wise.

Also it's probably not a bad idea to upgrade the fuel pump at that point as well. (the harrop needs 60's correct?)

I wanna know that answer as well... Not so much as if you need 60s, but is it ok to drive on the 42s out of boost to get to my tuning destination? Do you NEEd a return fuel system? (Heard its sold with some kits)

I believe the harrop needs 60s and upgraded fuel system depending on what size pulley you go to.

60s pound injector sould be good for the biggest pulley anytHING above you have to start upgrading fuel system .
