12-17-2005 Dyno numbers (Stock) 3rd & 4th gear comparison
both runs were done on a dyno jet. and i did this on purpose for all you nay-sayers on the difference between 3rd and 4th just so you will stop. the runs were about 3.5 to 4 mins apart (to allow for the runs to be closer to the same and avoid showing heat soak). he hit the rev-limiter in the first one so its truely about 222-223. blue one is third gear, red one is fourth.
thanks...had to set a base point for myself too, intake is coming tomorrow and then the exhaust is sitting in my room at home. gonna do some update runs when i get back to see the gains.
yeah you wanna look for 12s afr at wot...
between runs the dyno guy and i talked at length about how it starts to lean out up top...
wayne (the dyno operator) was very impressed by the car. after the first run he asked me, you sure you havent done anything to it?

Not sure about it, but is the 2006 seems to be a bit leaner for the few last RPM's, thus producing a couple more HP ?
Well think about this. I have just the magnaflow on it. 2.5 catback. I raced my friends srt4 acr stock and he pulls on me from about 40-100 about one car length. After I installed my exhaust I pulled on him from 40-100 about half a car length. So you'll definately notice the difference.
ok, now im definately ready to dyno again...lol...
too bad he has to send his stack out for its scheduled maintanence...we were the last runs for it...
it should be back in by the time i get back from my break

What are the gear ratio's again? Aren't they like 1.14 for 3rd and .89 for fourth? If so, both should be about the same amount off- one high, the other low, both by a similarly insignificant amount. So with that in mind your dyno sheet isn't all that surprising. Well to me anyway, it's about what I would expect- maybe a little more space between them, but still- close. Hope this ends once-and-for-all the damned 3rd gear 4th gear dyno debate.
yeah, it looks like there is about a 2-3 hp difference between the two in the peak numbers...(being that he hit the revlimiter in 3rd), in some spots though 4th is either even with, or like not even half a hp above the third gear run

Thanks for proving them all wrong!

Dman,
I am a bit confused are you say that 3rd and 4th are the same or different? If you look at your dyno the HP curves are almost identical except the very end where there is a slight jump of 6 HP. I would say by looking at your dyno that there is pretty much no difference between 3rd and 4th.

oh and to make my posts clearer, im saying what ive been saying all along...that there is no better reason to do pulls in 4th than there is to do your pulls in 3rd because there is no difference
