2.0L exhaust removal question

i want to buy a catback exhaust for my car. im debating on the megan catback or the gmpp catback. now i know most people cut the factory exhaust to take it off the car, i was wondering is there any way i can take it off without cutting it, incase i buy the megan one and i have to go back to the dealer i can just throw it up on the lift where i work and swap the stock exhaust back

if not i may just get the gmpp
thanks
-Anthony

You need a lift to take it out in one piece.......

From what I have seen and read I don't think there is enough play to get off in one piece.

You need a lift so the rear axle can drop far enough.

yeah, it can be done, but take this in mind.

if you order one from GM, it comes as an axle back part to be welded on.

in other words, it is, like any real exhaust, meant to be welded on/cut off.

you mean order a stock? because i thought the gmpp was designed like the rest; a bolt and gasket at the axle point of the car so that you dont have to weld.

the tech that put on my gmmp exhaust said he had to cut the stock exhaust to get it out. according to him the only other way the get it out besides cutting it is removing the rear axle or something like that. maybe a ploy to get more money but thats what i was told. good luck either way

I work at a dealership and I installed my GMPP cat-back by myself. It would be an extreme waste of time if you plan on removing your megan catback and re-installing your stock exhaust everytime you take it to the dealership. There is not enough clearance the way it sits so you will have to drop the rear axle. Not worth the time: my two cents.

You can take it off in one piece, its just much easier to cut it. I've taken two of them off in one piece and with one I left the wheels on and the other they were removed and I disconnected the rear shocks to allow the axle to drop. The wheels actually made it easier.
The GMPP cat-back is a bolt-on piece and takes longer to get the parts together than to actually install it

I've done it and installed GMPP exhaust with a jack. Actually 2 jacks and it took like 20-30 mins.
