2.0SS vs SRT

What mods would a stock 2.0 ss/sc need to beat a srt4 both, a roll and a stop?

Statistically, you would have a bit of an advantage with the GM stage 2 package. Run a search through these forums on SRT-4 with the title only option and you'll see. Many people have reported beating SRT-4's stock for stock. The drivers are the biggest roles in these cars, although the SRT-4 has the advantage.

i say with stage 2 and good driver no problem beating a good srt-4 drive. intake and stage2 and full exhaust then you can go kill some moddded ones.

alright cool. but if a mopar stg 2 steps up against a gm stg 2, it would be the srt hands down, correct?

THis is a topic brought up again and again. But, from what I have experianced on the streets there are very few stock srt-4's. It doesnt take much to make them crazy fast either.

I say a 2.7, 60#'s, Good tune (most important!!), Nice exhast, and airbox mod, and you will have fun and keep up with MOST of the srt's out there. But beware, there ARE 400 HP srt's roaming around more than you expect, and many 300hp srt's, but sadley few 300hp cobalts.

Stock vs Stock, I would have to say it would be very close, 70% srt4 will win 30%ss/sc will win....Its all up to the driver but the srt4 are only a little faster with 2 equal drivers...

one thing I noticed about the SRT4 is that its first gear is so much more usefull and a lot easier to launch than the cobalt is... but I also have to say the cobalts gears shift more smoothly into each gear than the srt does

wow. a topic that hasnt gotten blown out of proportion yet.

stock vs stock. the srt wins. stage 2 cobalt vs stock srt, the cobalt definitely wins. stage 2 vs stage 2 the srt wins.

as others have said, driver makes a big difference. keep in mind that the srt4 aftermarket has been out for a while and now ss/sc's are about to see a turbo AND supercharger upgrade for aftermarket parts.

i wouldnt be surprised if this turned into a "trolling" or "hahah noob" topic tomorrow.

driver is the difference, want proof?

http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...2401668ba3.htm

its a little ways in but its me (stage 2) vs stage 2 skittle

a stock srt can be taken by a stock cobalt from a dig or a roll its a drivers race IMO. but i do give the advantage to the skittle

Just as everybody else said, if the SRT is a bad driver and you are a good driver then you will win. If you are both good drivers then the SRT driver will win.

SRT FTW. Get it?

id go far enough to say a good cobalt driver could beat a moderate srt driver

I'd have to dissagree with most of you. I don't know how mcuh racing you actually do, but, some stock srt-4's are running in the 13's. A LOT of the local car group has srt's and they are fast. FOr example I raced one I had 1 passenger he had 2, He has stage 1, turbo back exhaust, msd ignition, and intake, I had stage 2 and he still walked me good, spitting fire as he did it.

Those cars aren't to be underestimated, there are very few stock ones. They have tons of potential, and see massive gains with exhaust alone. There is a great aftermarket with them too. I'm just saying don't bring a knife to a gun fight, If your playing around with SRT's alot make sure you have some moderate upgrades, or you will be wanting to trade you cobalt like I did.
