Sounds good too 2.1 liter seems to give the motor a deeper sound

 

That might be more cams, exhaust, and the initial startup with misfires. I have quite a bit of tuning left to do to get her dialed in a bit more.

You have eagle L61 rods in this with I assume some custom Diamond pistons for the bigger bore?

Yep. Eagle L61 rods which had the smaller 20mm wrist pin. I made a custom order for Diamond Pistons which included bigger diameter for the 88mm (3.465) bore, 20mm wrist pin, Eagle rods (5.765" c2c), and higher compression (10.5:1).

2nd gear is all but useless in this car now. It spins from about 2k and up. Even after I let off the throttle slightly, then hit it, it spins them again.

As long as it's faster than yours...

Thanks buddy. I'm hoping for the highest s/c whp/wtq dyno. I tune myself (am I allowed to say that? Lmao....) But I would not call myself a tuning expert. There are many who know far more than I. I'm hoping to get well over 400, closer to 450 with what I've got.

And, yes, Ryze still owes me $10.

When are you going to dyno it? do you have a baseline before the build? Looks good man!

 

I will try to get it dyno'd after it has about 2000 miles on the new motor.

The last time it saw a dyno was about 4 years ago, when I was on stock motor with forged pistons, stock unported head and cams, and TVS on stock pulley on 93 pump gas. The dyno guy only went to 6500 rpms (even though I told him at least 7) and I made 286 whp and 250wtq.

Since then, I have 5% bigger displacement, higher compression, ported head, cams, 8k rpms, E85, smaller TVS pulley...Etc... I wonder, just maybe, if it will get over 400...

 

Looks like other than the compression and displacement we have the same mods. So I could see it giving you the extra 40 whp you need.

Your Build is very similar to what I have as well...

 

I never really looked closely at your mod list, but yeah, they are pretty similar. I hope that the 1.0 increase in compression can do it for me, as well as the displacement and 8k rpm redline.

Yep. I think I remember an oil cooler assembly thread you started where you posted an alternative to the stock oil cooler. I had genuine interest in that, but cannot do it the way you did as my block is an LE5 and I don't have any ports where that oil cooler bolts to. I would have to use an adapter or something to accomplish the same thing. Something like this:
