2.2 Garrett Turbo Kit on 2.0 ?

Hey, would the 2.2 turbo kit from Garrett bolt up to a 2.0? I know you'd have to get an idler pulley made...and a new intake manifold or custom made pipe going from the turbo to the intake manifold...but other than that, should it fit?

The Cobalt 2.2L kit will fit the LSJ with some minor piping modification. ATP turbo makes this nice little blower removal kit for our cars now as shown in the link below. Contact ATP turbo for details about modifying the charge pipes to get it to work. They have also dyno'd an SS/SC with the kit and at the same stock boost levels, they gained 20whp from it and a lot more torque in the mid range!

Here's the link to the delete kit:

Here's the dyno results:

I understand that those parts could be made for cheap if you have access to a milling machine and the know how to make them. Unfortunately I no longer have access to a milling machine to make some nice aluminum parts, nor do most on the site. So for $220 that's a steal for a supercharger delete kit.

I do have the know how and ability however to weld and fabricate, so the only things I would buy are the turbo/manifold and the delete kit for it's cleanliness. I believe my Integra is proof of my fabrication skills.

What 16g do you plan on running? The small 16g, the big 16g, or the EVO III 16g? They are all different so I need more information. PM if you'd like and I can help you off to the side if you want. I'm real familiar with them as that's what I've run/am going to run on my Integra.

No my SS is not turbo'd...yet. I'm involved with the twinscrew project at the moment. My Integra however is and the kit is all fabricated from scratch by myself. So turbos are not a new thing to me. I have talked with Paul and some others that have turbo'd their balts though quite frequently so I'm well versed with information. This is definitely not my first nor last Rodeo needless to say!

I take it they are fabricating a turbo kit to sell soon then? If so, what turbo do they plan on running and what are the details of the kit?

With an EVO III 16g it has the capability to flow 550cfm's. I've mapped it out for the LSJ and it could easily make 350whp on our cars. The guys on the DSM forums have pushed them to 24-25psi and made just over 400whp reliably. This does however push the turbo just out of it's efficiency range. You would have to start doing head work for 400+whp anyhow, so it would be a great turbo for up to 400hp.

Oh wow lol look at all these responses...Yes I think I may go over to the dark side this summer...Is ATP and Speed Mafia coming out with their own turbo kits? If so I may wait for that....All I know is that most likely it will be a gt3076 but no crazy boost....I'm going to run like 15 lbs since i'm going to be on stock internals...and my internals have been beat to crap...

I haven't spec'd out that turbo yet, so I really don't know. IIRC they are good for around 500hp. Bill at Hahn Racecraft is currently working the 20g kit for our cars. He has and extensive knowledge of this turbo and uses it in most of his kits. See the GT35R thread for more details and his information.

The 3071R or the 3076 will do great for our cars. I'm not sure if ATP plans on doing their own kits, but it appears from the info they put out, that they are willing to make modifications to the Garrett kits to suit your needs. I'd be willing to bet if you ordered the Garrett kit and requested the upgrade to a 3071 or 3076, that they'd do it for you for a little more money.

I'm going to be running a t3/b16g hybrid and I am sure I will make 300+.

As far as that sc delete kit thank you i never knew about that, it sure saves alot of custom work for me. Thank you!

Now I wonder if the meth plate will fit in there?!?!?

I'm pretty sure there is ample room on the plate to drill and tap a spot for the meth by the looks of it. I would just drill a hole in the charge pipe before the throttle body though for it. It's easier and can always be replaced with a new section of pipe if you want to remove it.

If you get the ATP supercharger delete kit please post more pics of it on here. There are some other angles and stuff I'd like to see!
