2.2 Supercharging Questions.

Hey guys I have a quick question. I have a client with a 2.2 and he wants to supercharge his car. What are ALL of the parts that he would need be?

I know he needs the m62 supercharger, 2.0 lsj intake manifold, heat exchanger, intercooler pump, end plate, hoses, what else would he need?

I have heard something about a different alternator, but maybe that was a turbo setup, what else am I forgetting on that list?

Also tuning wise, vince at trifecta should be able to take care of him since I can't tune a 2.2 with hptuners correct?

No alternator needed. I am a supercharged 2.2.
He also needs stuff like guages. The alternator bracket and tensioner. And for heat exchanger he should be fine with the stock one as long as he is running the stock pulley. Also the lsj alternator bolts ic pump, belt, and Vince can tune him fine. But I would go with the 42slb injectors to be safe

Send him to Gene's, Hunter's, and Beck's threads, Zach. He'll pretty much have to do exactly that and buy all of the components outlined in their builds. They're what I followed when I did my build and they include just about everything you need.

Great man, this is going to be awesome, this client will be extremely happy when this is all said and done! I really hope vince does some good work on modified 2.2's.

PS: Sorry I titled the thread 2.4 when it's a 2.2

If you or he have any particular questions about the build, you can send them my way. It's still fresh in my memory

Right on man, thank you so much! Actually...Would you care to help with the build? We could do it on your day off and I don't think it would be that much of a drive for you. We would be doing it in a shop / garage without a lift but we do have all the tools necessary, not that we need that many though lol. But ya man, we could use a second / third set of hands

I'm pretty sure there is no support for 2.2's with hptuners, if I am wrong please notify me of my stupid self lol.

No HPT doesnt support the 2.2. I would opt for 60s rather than 42s. stenguyen here locally has a 2.2 S/C balt with 60s and a 2.9 making 255whp. Vince ran out of injector on the 42s at about ~235whp. AFR of 11.5.

Vince did a great job on his car. It has been supercharged and running strong for well over a year.

Hm I suppose mileage will vary on that, but the car drives and idles perfectly with the 60s, so I see no reason not to use them.
