iirc the stock tmap sensor (temp and manifold pressure sensor) is 2.5 bar. its the sensor on the top of the intake manifold. its not equivilent to a 3 bar, a 3 bar does -14.5psi to 29psi, 2.5 bar is -14.5 to 21.5psi.

you made me look this up - so part if from memory, and part is what I just found on the (mis)information highway...

Bar1 = vacuum only
Bar2 = reads pressure accurately up to 15psi
Bar3 = reads pressure accurately up to 29.4psi

Now the LNF map sensors are good to roughly 20psi ~ which I guess would coincide with your "bar2.5" comment...
The LNF Stage1 kit comes with replacement bar3 sensors for both the intake manifold as well as charge piping...

Does that help any?

Hes asking about the stock LSJ MAP. Its a "2.5" bar sensor, but is actually more like 2.78.

Anyway, its not the easiest sensor to find since most auto parts places have the wrong part number in their systems.

Thats why this thread exists:

The LNF GMS1 sensor is ~3.3 bar.

If you have HP Tuners you can apply the following change to make it work:

Just to be sure you know though, your PCM can still only read up to 255kpa no matter what map sensor you use.

A few things
1: 2.5 bar = 36.2594344 pounds per square inch
2: 3 bar = 43.5113213 pounds per square inch
3: These are Absolute Readings.
4: Atmosphere Pressure - 14.7 pounds per square inch
5: 2.5 Bar = 21.5594344 pounds of boost
6: 3 Bar = 28.8113213 pounds of boost

So unless your planning boost levels above 21.5 psi then stick with the 2.5 Bar.
For some reason I must have done the math differently because my max boost (before header) was 17psi and somehow I calculated that I needed more then the 2.5 bar. Oh well.

Ok this explains why I went with the 3bar instad of the 2.5
I'm pushing more then 15psi boost. (15.5 - 16, was 17 before my header install)

ONLY if you re-scale the rest of the tune to fake a 3 bar tune since the PCM can't actually read that high. To my knowledge nobody has done this yet. StreetDreamz said he did but thats about it.

Otherwise it is just a slightly lower resolution, yet very reasonably priced, replacement part.

Will the 3bar physically fit onto the lsj intake manifold?
