Exclamation 2.6" pulley + GM Stage 2

So I was wondering, how much more Horse Power would you get from using a 2.6" pulley, and the GM stage 2, in comparison to the Stage 2 pulley. I was thiniking about buying an intense 2.6" pulley and having it replace the S2 pulley. Does anyone know what type of gains Id be seeing? Also, would I have any problems if I put the 2.6" on?

yup, problems.

1. will it fit without machineing the blower snout
2. I'm not sure the injectors can handle the 7000rpm redline with 2.6

I know the 42.5# injectors can handle a 2.8 to a 7k redline. On the 2005 ECU with my custom calibration. I haven't seen a 06 stage calibration

I would just put a 2.8" pulley on. You shouldn't have any issues with fuel and it will fit the snout.

yeah I think if you go with the 2.6 would you have to get 60# injectors.

I believe so also. I have seen a 2.7 on with the 42lb injectors, but they are close at the high rpm range

Yeah people are putting the 2.6's on in conjunction with 60 lb'ers as well as some grinding/machining the snout

isn't 2.6 the lowest the s/c can handle?

WARNING You need to ensure that you have some sort of tuning done if you plan to use 60lb/hr injectors!!!

I cannot stress this enough -- The MAF-Translator that you can purchase from Intense will not allow you to scale high enough to support the 60 lb/hr injectors, and you need to ensure you have some way of tuning the A/F ratios to utilize the 2.6 or 2.7' pulley.

To be absolutely safe and have the least headache, run with a 2.8'' pulley and the Stage 2 with possibly the MAF-T or some sort of tuning + Wideband to read your ratios and ensure you are not running too lean.

Failing to heed this warning will possibly result in undesirable engine malfunction.

Sorry, I didn't mean to quote your post before - but I do now.

What I was going to say is that the 42.5 lb/hr injectors along with the 2.6'' pulley is what I have on my application at the moment. I'm going to have the same results as the GM kit, and possibly even better results than doing this with the GM kit when I get my custom PCM Tune done. You do realize that everything that was fixed and edited with the GM Reflashes can be done now with PCM tuning right.....?

*Edit*: The 42.5 pounders are maxed out at 6,500RPM... 60lbs injectors are a great idea for the 7,100 setup, the only thing you have to ensure you do is get the setup properly tuned.

^^ lol, sorry for the confusion bro.. The tuning part + GM Reflashes comment wasn't really meant for you, that part was meant for 1BADSS/SC... Since he's going with the GM reflash.

Actually on that note...

I spoke with Todd from IntenseRacing yesterday. He stated that they are going to be selling pre-tuned PCM replacements (calibrated as an upgrade for your setups..) much like they do with the 3800 community. This way people who do not have access to HPTuners, or want to learn the programming, or risk destroying their cars have a chance to get the tune they desperately need.

I believe he said it will come as an upgrade to the already released Intense Stage 3 kit, those people who have larger injectors so on and so forth have alot to look forward to with the PCM swaps. I'm one of those people, being stuck overseas... So I'm definately in that category of people looking forward to it.

As far as horsepower goes with a 2.6 pulley and GM stage 2, I just dyno'd 242whp with GM stage 2 and an Injen cai. Figure every .1 you take off the pulley you get about 10hp. So a 2.6 w/GM stage 2 and this tunning should be between 280 and 290whp. AWSOME!

^^^^^You can't always go by that way though. I wouldn't think with a 2.6 pulley the supercharger would be as efficient as it would be with a 3 incher. But maybe you're right. We will have to see.

Yeah i'm not a big fan of the 2.6's and the 2.5's. Their cars are going to be good for a year or so but that's one fun year hah?
