2.8 Pulley Question

So I'm going to be buying an SS/SC and it currently has 80# injectors and a 2.8 pulley. From talking with ZZP, it's not safe to use a 2.8 without a dual pass ic plate and on stock header/downpipe/exhaust.

ZZP recommended I go back to a 3.0 pulley for the time being.

Anyone have any input on this? And how unsafe/why is it unsafe to keep the 2.8 on?

Thanks

False.

Cooling mods are recommended, not required. Dont do back to back hard pulls frequently and it will be fine as long as the car is properly tuned. A header/DP combo and exhaust will better help your flow and power while the dual pass will help keep the IAT2 down. Both are great investments.

So it should be fine for daily driving? My biggest concern is reliability.

yea if your not beating on it, you wont tell the difference between the 3 in and the 2.8 in.

just drive normal and dont floor it or race anyone and youll be perfectly fine. Just make sure its tuned for w.e pulley you have on there

It's tuned for the 2.8 pulley, but that's the other thing. I would want to floor it every now and then.... It is a supercharged car after all.

My car ran perfectly fine with the 2.8 loved it and had that set up for over a year before i got my lnf. youll be fine but just like any other boosted car more cooling mods the better lol

It'll be fine man. You can change pulleys without changing the tune, btw.

So then for the setup on it (2.8 pulley and 80# injectors) which would be more optimal... Dual pass and a fm h/e or downpipe/exhaust as the first things to do.

ZZP told me there would be "TONS of detonation" going on.... I obviously wouldn't want that.

I would be doing the exhaust first. As all the cooling mods are for recovery.

So my plan is to order the ZZP 2.5" downpipe w/ cat and the ZZP 2.5" cat back exhaust.

What would the option for an angled o2 bung be for/do I need that?

If not not mistaken Toby the angled bung would be for catless to help not throw a cel but don't quote me on that. And if you don't already have one get a wideband very important so you know your afrs. And if you don't have a wideband get a dp that has one mounted should be an option

I'd bet the tune it has on now has deleted rear o2 cat codes deleted.. maybe.
Wideband is a great idea.

i would do headers and dp first .... the exhaust is not really a necessity at this point

Yeah it is an option, it's an extra o2 bung

And Yellowsupercharged... so I should do the mid-length and dp combo instead of a dp and cat back?

ZZPerformance - Mid Length Header & Downpipe Combo #ZZ-MIDLHDP
1.75" primaries
Catted
Extra 02 bung
Both gaskets

Also is the AEM air/fuel ratio gauge a wideband? Because the car already has the AEM Air/Fuel ratio gauge.

Well it's on the stock downpipe

Well, doesn't really matter. Lets just say the tune is the zzp canned tune. Those codes are already deleted. They do nothing. My rear o2 didn't even tell me my cat was collapsed and I was wondering why my car ran like **** with no cods.

Yeah it's hooked up, and it's an HP Tune, not a ZZP tune

Awesome

I'll probably do the header and dp combo first... since a cat back is a fairly simple install
