2.8 switch?

so my ottp stage 2 is in the mail. (finally)
question is i want to go a little more conservative. and eventually run nitrous. so i want to get a 2.9. questions is would i need to retune when i do this? i plan on getting a custom tune but would i be able to run the 2.9 on ottp's tune?
thanks in advance

run and use the 2.8/ottps tune till you get the nitrous ready to install. then switch to the 2.9 and have the car tuned on the nitrous.

Amen to that.

And if you really wanna switch just put the 2.9 on and go. It will maybe get a touch richer at WOT but nothing drastic

If its buried at 10 you need to get retuned. Unless you havent put in the OTTP kit yet. Because I believe they command 11.76 at WOT

Your car should theoretically run the same on any pulley (as long as its with in the injector limits) because the maf will make the fuel changes when it sees the different airflow from the different pulleys.

There is one important thing to remember though, timing advance. If you drop to a smaller pulley without retuning your chance for knock is greater and if you go to a bigger pulley you could increase your timing with the retune. This is why I like my e85!

There is one last basic thing I would like to say on the matter. There is one last probable reason to not go to a smaller pulley then the tune is listed for. Dropping to a smaller pulley could be going out of the tuned maf range in the tune (assuming they are using the maf). Im sure the vendors know what they are doing and tune these cells in as well.

Learn down? Do you mean the case learn? Yes go get that taken care of. As far as the not feeling as fast you should go get your car tuned in and get some cooling mods. Heat soak is a bitch in these cars.

With a tune your bypass shouldnt bleed the boost. Only the gm stock/stage tunes bleed the boost. Well I guess mine doesnt. Think of the slap in the face my car would give me going from 21lb to 12lb in 500 rpms lol.

I agree. I just installed meth, dual pass, heat exchanger and option b in my car then got it tuned by kennyspec tuesday. WOW what a difference! But my car was running crazy rich the with OTTP canned tune nevermind with meth on top if it. We tuned it in 3rd gear starting at 2000rpm to 7000rpm. He did a chart before and after my tune to compare and looked at time vs speed between the both and i gained 13 mph just in my 3rd gear pull. My car doesnt bleed the boost at all.

If your car is hesitating or surging go get it tuned. Only way to fix it.
