2.9" finally!!!!

Finally after about three hours of installing i got the stupid pulley in...

started off fine, got the first three blue bolts off, but for some reason the last one wouldnt come off. ended up stripping it, and had to hammer the last one off... good thing is i didnt mess up the rotors on the blower....

now i have nate's 2.9 on, and i love it. btw it is sooo much lighter than the stock stg. 2 pulley, i love it...cant wait to get tuned now....tunetime here i come

What size injectors do you have? I would invest in larger injectors if your using stage II 42 lbsers. Congrats on the 2.9

I am probably going to unleashed tuning when I get my 2.9 and 60's. May be worth the drive for you. www.unleashedtuning.com

Get tuned and take some WOT away, it will knock pretty good. I'd get a wideband too so you can lean it out and help your injectors too, they are going to be pissed. Depending on how serious you are, look at a water injection kit as well, it will help your injectors even more, and let you add timing instead of taking it away.

honestly from what i've read on the site, 2.9 w/ a tune and 45's is ok...now if i drop to a 2.8 or smaller, i'm going to the the h/e and def. 60's...

but as far as i'm concerned tunetime's website says that w/ my current setup i'll be hitting 260ish with their tune...now there maybe a little b/s in that but anywhere in that neighborhood i'm happy. don't have too much cash to put into the car right now so a tune should keep me happy for a while.

42s and a 2.9" is pushing it not tuned. If its tune properly it will help, but your injectors will still be pissy.

Exactly....most people(including myself) are running anywhere from 100 to 120IDC's on the 42's with a 2.9....If and when you get your car logged/tuned you will see the graph on your injectors go up and then all of a sudden freak out(usually about 6K RPM)...

Nice, and where exactly are they located? I looked around and didn't see anything...

I don't know if going with a 2.95 is going to make too much of a difference. Maybe a smidgen....

If I am correct a I believe the only reason the IDC's are so high on the GM stage 2 tune is because the GM tune runs the car rich. You can lean the car out and your IDC's will drop. But I don't know how much. Although I could guarantee your IDC's will not be below 80...

Hmm i always heard it was ok to run a 2.9 on a Gm Stg 2...I usually take mine to 6900 rpms when shifting..if what your saying is true about the injectors going crazy, that would mess my car up wouldnt it?

Ehhh, I suppose it can if driven hard back to back to back to back......But the problem wouldn't be coming from the injectors, would be the heat produced from the supercharger without the proper amount of cooling.

I don't know why mine is so different, but on a 3" pulley my fuel injector duty cycle was around 60% at WOT...I was actually surprised. GM tune of course.

it'll just shorten the life of the injectors. remember the injector is just a solenoid, its "lbs" rating is how fast it can open and close. increasing its duty cycle shortens the life. gm stage 2 is pig rich. car commands 10.8 air/fuel i believe

I run a 2.99 and see over 100% IDC's , highest was 110% on a stage tune. The good thing about the 2.99 is my Iat2's didn't change a great deal so i don't worry about heat as i would with a true 2.9.
