2.9" whp

hey im running a 2.9 pulley on 42's with the gm stage 2 tune. In addition i have a cai and stock exhaust except for a megan racing muffler. I plan on getting a wide band soon so i can get a custom tune. Anyone know how much whp i could make with a custom tune and the mods that i have?

mods & dyno numbers are in my signature. the tune is from Tune Time Performance in Toms River, NJ. i've changed a few things since then so a retune could pull out more power.

yea i did the same power with just a cai & catback on a mobile dyno jet. my numbers in my signature were on a Mustang Dyno, which is suppose to read roughly 13% lower than a DynoJet, i honestly think that's a bunch of BS. i found a local DynoJet that i'm going to jump on and see what it does.

A 2.9, 42's, cai, & Gm Stage Tune should put down at least 240-245whp. Open up the exhaust, and you should see 250 or so whp.

I dyno'd a tad over 260whp with a 2.9, 42's, custom tune, full exhaust with no cat, & an intake.

Your post was no more useful. Anyways, is it completely safe to run a 2.9 on 42s? I heard idc's are at or above 100% up high in the rpms. Get some meth injection

2.9 & 42s are perfectly fine.... as long as you have Lucas 42s instead of GM 42s. they flow better. i know from experience.

i was on that setup, went to a 2.9, went to get my tune tweaked and was told the injectors were going static up top. so my tune really didn't change. i was told to either go back to a 3.0 or get better flowing 42s to be safe OR go 2.8/60s. i ended up getting a great deal on these Lucas 42s. i'm actually getting a retune very soon.

Zach will be able to tell you what you IDC's are if you switch pullies. Its a 50.00 pulley and a few minute install. Its worth the experiment.

it's safe in some setups, it's all in the tune.

I have 2.9" w/ GMS2 (on GMS2 tune), intake, full exhaust and I'm making 255whp. I could def make a few more with a better tune. I'll be adding 60's and a 2.8" or 2.7" with some cooling mods and a tune soon for a little more power
