2007 lsj with TVS

ok well guys, now that i have some more cash since im selling my street bikes, im planning on building up my 07. i wanna do a TVS set up. it will be daily driven mostly. im parking it this winter so ill have plenty of time to do mods. i wanna reach the 300+ WHP, perferbaly 330WHP. i have gm cat back, injen intake. im planning on letting nick from BYT do the tuning. what other mods do i need? should i do internals? id like to get away without doing the internals if i can. BTW, i recently found out my car does not have the g85 package, no LSD, is this a big deal? i will have aftermarket motor/trans mounts for sure, and ingalls. thanks guys!

no lsd means the 300+ whp wont be driving the car so much as spinning the wheels. Good luck with your project, I would suggest you try working with an M62 and start off that way...eBristol has 300+ on an M62

have to agree. i just dropped to a 2.7, 60lb injectors and custom tuned, no lsd is an issue. 1st is useless, if i roll into it in 2nd itll start pulling hard then rip one tire loose. kinda cool that it will do that, but makes the car useless.

myself, id take the lsd over the tvs. not sure of what you have already on the car, but you can upgrade and get 280whp safely with the m62 with the proper mods, then later on toss a tvs on for more.

ok, well thats one thing with the lsd, as far as working with the stock one, i just didnt want to have problems by over spinning it with a 2.8. i guess i just looked at the TVS as bolt on, but i also understand id need a clutch, axles ect. just seemed a lil simpler than modding the stock one. i want the car to be reliable, so id need a 2.8 pulley zzp adjustable tensioner, gm dual pass, gm clutch upgrade, bad mab header, and byt tune. also, do i need a stage 2 belt if i get the zzp tensioner?

For the price of the tvs I would just turbo charge the car. If you did all the work yourself it wouldn't be that much. Also if you got a s252 or s256 the lag would help with no LSD. I'm glad I have a g85

You mean wheel, not wheels.

If ur srock, try bolt ons. It makes a huge diference, 60s, Intake hedder dp cat back, h.e, and tune. Shell rip pretty hard! Shell waste a lotta stuff on the road and stil be extremely reliable

If your herealready n need more then tvs is the way to go

G85 is a perforamcne package for the cobalt that comes with an LSD, recaro seats and something else. LSD = Limited Slip Differential. Means when you spin the wheels you spin both wheels and not just 1.

DO your seats say recaro on them? And I thin kit says G85 on some sticker on the spare tire cover or something in the trunk. IDK, someone with a cobalt would know better.

Do you have recaro seats? and check the sticker under your trunk liner.

Some of the 07's that have the g85 didnt come with recaro's. Lift your trunk mat up, and find the sticker with all the numbers on it. If you see a g85 anywhere on there you have it.

Yes, you will have better traction and much better handling if you have an lsd. And if the factory recaros are anything like the aftermarket one's I've sat it, they're super comfy.

as some one said earlier, a tune, exhaust, downpipe and header does sound good. i prolly can wait and turo the car alos, but id be tearing it down right at spring time, but really might not be to big of a deal if i buy a new car in spring, but the cobalt will stay also.

Scower your local junk yards to try and find a balt with one. And just swap the whole tranny. OR buy the obx unit and do a proper rebuild on the obx and get it installed professionally.
