2008 Cobalt SS is Turbocharged. the proof is in....

I was readingthe brand new GM High Tech performance and on page 10 it says. that the 260 hp turbocharged engine will be going into the 2008 Cobalt SS and Redline. Go check it out yourself. Its a small paragraph right up. but all i can say about it is DAMNIT!!!!
I should have waited. A Turbo'ed Cobalt SS will whip a Superchargered SS. IMO

There will be no 2008 Redline so if that info is as good as what kind of motor will be in it then you can bet that there wont be a turbo in the next cobalt. btw GM is making the LSJ thier next "tuner" motor. It aint going turbo ANYTIME soon.

I like my supercharger thank you. 260 does sound nice though. I wonder what kind of clutch they are going to use? If it's the same clutch we have right now...HA....I would not be surprised.

Now dont call me a liar. but im sure GM High Tech Performance has a pretty good source. I like my supercharger to. but i didnt buy it for that. i wanted a fast car. and the last thing i want is a 2008 Cobalt SS pulling up and out doing me. I want to start the same as everyone else does with a Cobalt SS

Now, all we need are some pics of the new 08's. I would have to wait to see the look of it. 260 hp does sound awsome but the camaro is also coming as well.

Does that first article talk about a 600 hp corvette? Sweet.

Not mine!
And even then, 2008 is when I plan to buy another CobaltSS\?? for a daily driver and keep this one for mainly racing.

Buzz talk...I won't believe that, or the article above it about the Vette, until I see proof. Not saying I wouldn't like it, I just don't see it happening.

I dont see why they wouldnt. especially if it works in the Solstice. The SS/SC seems to have small Stock problems. such as idling, cat clogging, CEL. I think they will do away with the motor to clean them form "there first Forced Induction motor" if they get a chance. Now please note. im not knocking the SS. I have a SS/SC but i will be jealous of a turbo'ed SS

It works in the Solstice yes, but the Solstice is RWD, so the engine is mounted differently. With the current Cobalt set up, the engine may not fit very well if at all, but honestly I'm just guessing. edit: But that may change is the rumored redesign in 08 is true.

I honestly don't ever beleive the rumors in magazines or on the net, untill they are announced by GM at a car show.
