I have a on and off switch for my methanol kit. I have the aem meth kit, and its also progressive. It starts to spray at 5psi and is spraying full at 10psi which I hit no problem as soon as the pedal hits the ground.

If you really want to hit 250whp I recommend doing the following. 60lbers, heat exchanger, methanol, 2.8inch pulley and a tune. I don't know what your budget is, but this will put you at 250 or more depending on the dyno and your tuner.

I recommend getting tuned by bill hahn who owns hahn racecraft. His tunes from what I have heard are absolutely amazing.

I am considering going stage 5 turbo, and looking at around 450whp. However I don't want to **** paul off =P.

 

You shouldnt have gone to Joe, he sucks at tuning, you can tell him i said that and he needs to stop tuning LSJ's until he learns the LSJ better, every car he has tuned has been way slower then mine, go to Ryan at P&P Tuning if you want to be fast and make some power.............I made 266whp with 60#'s/2.85"/gmp catback/HPTune, no cooling mods and my coolant s/c'er pump broke and i could have made more but it was alittle on the hot side 91 degrees.

 

get cooling in the form of a heat exchanger if you cant get meth and 60s

 

i have a 2.7 pulley, snowperformance stg2 meth, 60s injectors, hp tune, and a K&N intake and made 253hp and 242ftlbs
and thats on stock exhaust

 

Wait until it's like 50 degree's outside and go back to the same dyno. There's 250 for free.

 

If you stay out of the throttle you won't use up all your meth. I have a kit on my Syclone and it only sprays after 10psi. Anything under 10psi of boost it won't spray.

 

^ indeed...and a 20 gallon fuel jug of meth will last u more than a year after being mixed and such...its not like ud need a fill all the time.

 

Dayta: how much psi are you getting from that 2.7 with the stock exhaust? you must be maxing out that guage on a cold day...

i just got them installed like a moth ago,
so i dont really know what im boosting on a cold day yet

Just run a 35 shot of nitrous. Will get you well over 250whp

 

No, you dont need a progressive kit, and you dont have to worry about it freezing in the winter...

Methenol is used as a gasoline antifeeze, it is pure alcohol, IT WONT FREEZE!! Especially if you do the most common: gallon of -20* washer fluid mixed with 2-3 bottles of HEET.

 

I am going to say this one last time.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE TUNED TO RUN METH INJECTION. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE TUNED TO RUN STRAIGHT DISTILLED WATER.

You will see HP gains if you are tuned, but you will see cooling gains no matter what, and octane gains no matter what.

 

no u dont need to be tuned...but if not tuned, i suggest that you run straight water...u will actually lose performance by running rich...which your are obviously likely to do if injecting meth

 

it depends on the mixture. You will not necessarily run rich, but you could run richer. It will help with detonation though. I would suggest using just water, or windshield wiper fluid, or using a few bottles of heet.
