3'' Exhaust with pacesetter header

has any one done this? how does it sound? any downfalls I need to know about? I know no one sells a 3 inch downpipe for it so it would have to be custom made.

why with a pacesetter header?? they are going to be to restrictive for a need for a 3in catback...IMO ur gona need a 1.75 primary to a 3in collector.

just wondering really i know the pacesetter is 1 3/4 with 3in collector just was wanting to know if it was worth the hassle if its to restrictive then would stay with 2.5 all the way back

Hack off the stupid ball joint on the Pacesetter. Weld a flange on. Make a custom downpipe at a local shop for $50. Atleast that's what mine cost. People needlessly hate on the pacesetter. It's 1.75" primaries, with 3" collector. Looks fine. Get it ceramic coated.

Gee, myself as well as another member easily cracked 300hp on the TVS w/ this "horrible" header. 318hp/282tq.

Don't listen to those that haven't used it. It's a fine header. Other vendors copied the design to sell for higher..

Oh, and I get compliments all the time on the exhaust tone of my car. It's a little higher pitched at start up, but gets nice and deep after warmed up

The only thing i don't like about it is as others have stated the ball and flange design needs to go, also the pacesetter logo gets in the way of the nut to go on the stud so fitment is tight

I'm not too sure if you are looking to spend the money or not, but you should take a look into a hahn exhaust system. It is a little pricy, but sounds, appearance and performance is all beautiful.

Shorty header (Hahn) vs midlength (pacesetter, CIA)

Mid > shorty. My personal preference

IMO Hahn is better than all other systems.... There is a reason why it is the most expensive and raved about. You NEVER hear anything bad about Hahn service, product, etc.

im on the list for a pacesetter header on a post for $125 shipped, should be ordering it tomorrow. i'm in no rush to throw it on the car, i'll get a custom dp and then the rest of the exhaust shortly after. i never modded an exhaust on a car before, but for spec purposes, 1.75" primaries and 3" collector is the same specs as a lot of other headers, and for $125 shipped can't beat that. higher prices = higher quality most of the time yes, but if it gets the job done then that's all that matters.
