3" Pulley for Christmas!! What next?

I'm stock besides an intake and exhaust and I'm wondering if I can slap this baby on without a tune... Can the computer account for the added boost to an extent? Is it safe? I don't want to run too lean here and chew up a piston.

Sorry if this has been answered over and over again, this search engine leaves something to be desired.

You might be able to get away with it, I wouldn't try it though....I DID, but I wouldn't do it again, lol.

Thanks for the response, I'll have to find a tuner shop around here in CT.

Gotcha, shoulda done some research... just realized that the Stage 2 pulley is 3.06" (77.9mm) So should I just get the Stage 1 upgrade from Crate Engine Depot (this is just the injectors.)

Do I need a smaller belt or can the tensioner pick up the slack?

WAIT A MINUTE!!! this is a 3.25" pulley.... just looked up the part# on summit...

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Will that be safe?

Just found this site... has a nice size recommendation:
http://www.cobaltperformanceparts.co...ey_System.html

Stock Pulley Size is 3.346"

Stock System can handle the 3.30"
Colder Plugs 3.20"-3.10"
Colder Plugs and larger injectors (42-44lb) with tuning for 3.00-2.90
Colder Plugs and larger injectors (50-65lb) with tuning for 2.80-2.70
Colder Plugs Snout machine and larger injectors (65lb+) with tuning for 2.60 or smaller.

A 3.25" would be fine, I would think. You're adding another pound-ish of boost

Jannetty Racing in Waterbury has HP Tuners for the Balts and have done really good work in the past. I would reccomend them for any tuning. Also they have smaller pulleys in stock and can get other parts for you.

Hmmm...I don't think I'd trust an aluminum press on pulley based on the fact that aluminum expands quite a bit when it heats up. Also, 83.96 + shipping seems pretty steep for a press-on pulley.

Just my $.02

Thanks for all the info guys I'll have to rent the ZZP Puller/Installer and get this puppy installed. Really appreciate the tip about Jannetty Racing, I'll have to go check them out.
