i am not trying to be a jerk but those look horrible! Did you cut those with a torch?

The machining on the block is to very tight clearance when you go to install those, if they are marred up they may not go in very cleanly, sit crooked, wear on the chain etc. Do those things spin freely with a little bit of oil in them? Have you tried to slide them into the block.

Look at the pics in post 126. I had mongorat make those up for me. I think he just used a cutoff wheel, they are harder to tighten the bolt after you take them apart but you can install them in the block and use a screwdriver or similar sized tool to hold against the cog then tighten them with red loctite.

Hope those workout , they just look rough.

I haven't tried to put them in yet. Cut them with a saws aw. Never done it before, I just cut and ground them down a bit. I was planning on cleaning them

Piston rings are gapped. Waiting on new oil squirters and BS deletes from mongorat then assembly will start

Used "the right stuff" sealant. In correct torquing order with new bolts I did, 15ft lbs then 70 degrees then 20 degrees

Oil squirters were torqued to 18ft lbs with a dot of red loctite

Outer griddle bolts (13mm) all torqued to 20 ft lbs

All bearing jornals were rubbed with lube, rear main seal was lubed and set in place.

I hope to have pistons and rods in tomorrow afternoon along with the head put on

Correct. My pistons were measured at the machine shop, so since my #3 cyl is the tightest we are going to just switch the 3 &4 pistons since cyl #4 piston measured the smallest.

Do you mind sharing the actual numbers? I'm just curious how far they should be. And does this mean that the rings are going to be off as well?

.004 is the rule of thumb

The clearance will be more depending on boost pressure max hp. Bla bla bla.

Mine r .0045

Even on the tightest cyl #3, .004 fits

.004 is not the rule of thumb each piston maker has their own specifications depending on what alloy the pistons are made from and usage

If you were about to head over to pornhub look no further, I have updates

Not finished by any means. Head and rods are torqued. Odds and ends need to be finished but its late.
