60 #'s what kinda gain?
60 #'s what kinda gain?
I have a 2.85 pulley with stage 2, I am interested in going with 60 #'s and was curious as to what kind of gains you guys would guestimate. I haven't been able to get the results i was looking for through the search method I'm just posting my question, so don't bash me. I did try to search
Whoever says you will gain any hp greater than like .5 is dumb. You will have no gains with 60s. People who say that might as well say yeah, lose about 10 pounds of body wieght and youll gain 7-10whp.
The only way he will see power is with a tune or like what elecblue06 said.
when u tune all you do is lean it out. you will gain absolutely no power. you can lean out 42`s just like you can lean out 60`s. you will lean them both out to the same air to fuel ratio resulting in the same numbers until you drop a pulley size and retune
leaning it out and maxing idc's are totally differant... id much rather properly lean out 60's rather than 42's... ur looking at roughly 70% idc with 60's and im sure over 110% with 42's... power wise no differance... but when ur car is parked in ur driveway becuase u just blew ur engine... id think 200 bucks for 60lbs injectors seems pretty cheap...
but power wise no i dont see a differance if both have the right tune worked out

Glad to see your learning jason

Jason has a good point, your idc's are going to be very very high with 42lbers and they WILL be static. If you upgrade to 60lbers you don't have to worry about starving your motor of fuel. It's always in the tune, but 60lbers would be a wise choice if your going to stick with that pulley or even go lower.
Power wise however injectors do not ADD power, the smaller pulley and the tunes do as has been stated. However we all recommend you go with 60lbers so you don't run those 42lbers static.

u think with a 2.8 pulley you will see 70% use of #6o injectors. deffinetely not. a 2.8 with #42`s will be high but that was not my point. my point is that it will not add power. how you make power is pulley size and leaning out your injectors to fit your pulley size.
I think I am going to jump up to 60's but before I do, I'm gonna get my progressive meth kit installed and get a tune to see what my IDC's look like afterwards. They're still gonna be high but not 120% high. lol
lol @ gaining HP just from injectors.
Injectors allow you to add more fuel to the car. That is it. For example, if you are running more boost, you will need more fuel to keep the right a/f mixture. So if you are running high injector duty cycle (IMO above 80/90%), that means it time to get a lil bigger injector, that can throw more fuel in there.
