Question 60k tune guide?

Hey all... ok ok I'm due for the 60k tune... only nice thing is if you saw the car you wouldn't think i was anywhere NEAR that milage it's in such good cond

question: am i better off taking it in to the dealer, or a high perfomance shop, or can i do this all myself? if i CAN do this, what is all involved in the 60k... i've looked for a thread on this and came up empty...

thanks for any input!

Would depend on how much you CAN do yourself!?

60k would be checking everything to make sure its within specs.
Check the break pads and rotors.
Tranny fluid change. Oil change. Rotate tires. Replace spark plugs. Check coolant. Check brake fluid.

Just normal preventative maintenance to make sure all is OK.

valid point.. haha..

k well i'm able to do quite a bit myself, pretty much everything from brakes to rotors, to checking fluids, changing oil... tires are new ftw.. but i wouldn't be able to flush tranny or coolant.

next question, is there anything that i can upgrade as i replace as a perfomance mod that i'll have to be working on anyway... plug wires,, plugs themselves,, i'm already looking into slotted rotors, but that's a whole different thread

another question, aren't there a couple belts that i should be looking into swapping out at this point too?

any thoughts?

Done. Here is it below...

Inspect

Brakes and Traction Control
Visualy inspect brake lines and hoses. Inspect pads for wear and rotors for surface condition. Calipers, Parking break, Etc..

Coolant
Check fluid level, add if needed.

Cooling System
Visually inspect hoses, have them replaced if worn. Inspect all pipes, fittings, clamps. Pressure test, and cleaning outside of the radiator and air conditioning condenser is recommended at least once a year.

Exhaust System
For loose or damaged components.

Fluid - A/T
Inspect the transmission/transaxel fluid level and add fluid as needed.

Fuel Supply Line
Inspect the fuel system for damage or leaks

Restraint Systems
Ensure proper saftey belts, belt lights, latches, retractors, and anchorages are all working correctly. Look for loose or damaged parts. If anything is damaged, replace. Also look for any opened or broken air bag coverings, and have repaired or replaced. (the air bag system does not need regular maintenance)

Steering and Suspension
Inspect components for damage, loose or missing parts, and signs of wear. Inpect power steering lines and hoses for proper hookup, etc. Visually check velocity points, rubber boots and axel seals for leaks.

Vehicle
Visually check for any leaks or damage. (in any vehicle system)

Washer Fluid
Check and add if needed.

Wiper Blades
Inspect... blah blah...

Lubricate
Doors
There's a really big explaination here, basically, if it moves, lubricate doors, key lock, hood latch, hinges, pivot points, fuel door hinge, you get the idea. Also adds that applying silicone greast on weather strips with clean cloth will make them last longer, seal better, and not stick or squeak.

Replace
Air Filter Element

Cabin Air Filter
Replace passenger compartment air filter. If vehicle is driven in dusty environment, you may need to raplace more often.

Engine Oil
Change engine oil and filter, or every 12 months, whichever occurs first. Reset indicator

(i kid you not that was word for word, i hope you do it slightly more often.

Oil Filter

Rotate
Tires
And check inflation pressures and wear.

And there you have it.
