People need to research what they are talking about. Get HPTuners and read a log for christ sakes. If you use a 2.9 on 42lbers you will be running over 100% before 7k rpms.

Last time I checked you don't want your injectors running over 100% maybe things have changed recently though.

I personally like to keep my injectors at 80% and under, hence why I am going to run 60lbers with my 2.8 inch pulley.
You need to research better, its 89% @ ~6800rpm. for a 2.8 on 60's...and thats not a given.
Now the guys in higher elevation can get away with this.

I never stated I did know everything. But if you grab hptuners and put on a 2.9inch pulley with a stage 2 tune and take her up to 7k rpms, watch what happens.

I didn't realize that a 2.8 on 60s goes up to 89% at 6800 rpms.

I am putting on my 2.8, 60lbers, and an hptune sometime next week. Probably around the 16th.

I think I have logs from his car...hold on

I have to d/l HPTuners for this computer my laptop is acting odd

not his but a few pulls with nitrous
ok, 3 logs
88% at 6530
91% at 6480
94% at 6510
not sure if the nitrous increases the duty cycle or not....let me find a few without nitrous

thats also with a tune though, not a stage 2 tune.

Theres no way you have a stage 2 tune, 2.8 and are having idc's at 94% at 6500 rpms.

its far from a stage 2 tune...well, it uses 42lb injectors

I think they got 325 with the 50shot

=P with the stage 2 tune, you cant use a 2.8 on 42lbers, nor a 2.9 without going over 100%.

I recommend 60lbers for a 2.9 so you have room to work with and you have upgrade room so when you realize you really do want that 2.8 or 2.7 you don't have to upgrade the injectors again.

/thread.

I've seen over 110% IDC with a stage 3 2.99 pulley on a stage tune. I'm @ 600-700 elevation. I've also seen high 90%'s with the stage 2 pulley 3.06 . People will argue about this till this site closes, main thing is to check your elevation , and log your IDC's too see whats what.

you don't NEED to change your underwear either, but it's a good idea. same with upgrading your injectors with your setup.

im running 2.90 pulley on 42 # injectors and i go static around 5950 rpms according to hptuners... when i keep going i see prolly a max of 110-115 duty cycle... which from what i heard isnt good its not the end of the world... i will be purchasing new 60 #ers some time next month. till then im just not gonna beat on my car at every stop light... just every other there is alot that this depends on. u can custom tune and make your car safe but then u hinder performance.. play around with the MAF feature in Hp tuners and drive around.. you will notice a huge different once u make it run a little more rich since we run a little extra boost... its amazing, downside of course is IDC stage 2 gm tune you will be borderline safe.. run like 98-105 idc... im lovated in philly so ummm take that for what its worth for elevation. ill be selling eprfectly fine 42#ers soon if any one is interested, 3.0 or bigger.. shoot on a stock pulley with 42# yull notice an amazing difference.
