#1 problem is stupid Laminova cores.... (honestly they are probably the worst flowing intercoolers ever)

forget meth, just use water, its cheaper and doesnt screw with your tune as much and gives you all the knock protection..

Well the pulley and belt are on now it was pretty easy with the pulley tensioner tool, getting the new belt around the crank pulley was kinda a pain in the ass

I'm working on hooking up the laptop and AF readings to hp tuners at the moment

but the best cooling.

i do agree with other methods of cooling we could ditch them for something more effective.

Ok well heres where it stands now did about 10 runs or so and the ambient temp outside is 77 yet my IAT is around 100 degrees and IAT2 is about 120 crusing, at red lights shoots to 140s

Whenever I stomp on it the IAT2 climbs to about 160 or so which is right where I have my boost cut set for

Looks like I need water injection bad, im curious as to why IAT1 is so much hotter than outside air

heat in the engine bay/hot plastics/metals in the intake track. Run your car for a good 20-30 mins driving around, then feel the black plastics...then imagine what heat conducting metal would feel like

still doesnt make sense to me though why his iat1 is so high....I am no doubting your knowledge in the least hunterkiller89. But today was a very hot day here and very humid. We were in the 90s and my iat was almost dead on or +1-3 depending on what i was doing with the ambient temp.

Your iat2's in my opinion no matter what should NEVER exceed 170. Even if you do back to back to back 3rd gear pulls. However I know people that see 220 in the summer with stage 2 stuff and no cooling mods. It just depends on how hard you want to push your car.

Its as simple as this guys. The hotter the air is for your iat2, the less power you are actually making. Go on a dyno and do 20 dyno runs straight. You will notice after the third if you don't have cooling mods the numbers shoot down drastically and you will noticed after the 10th that your car hates you and a 100hp lawn civic would kill you lol.

Cooling mods and then power will net the best results. As far as meth/water mix. Personally if your not tuned for it just run distilled water with a bottle of heet or two depending on how big your tank is. I run 1 gallon of distilled water + 2 bottles of heet in my 1 gallon tank. So i put in slightly less then 1 gallon of distilled water obviously lol.

it never went above 160, i did about 10 full throttle runs, but driving around for a half hour IAT1 never dipped below 100 either, i need to find some way to get some cool air into the fenderwell

update: ordered a aem water injection kit, comes in tommorow

i wouldnt even claim that they are the best cooling.. I think a bar and plate or a tube/fin type could have greater effecievness..

also remember you wont generate as much heat if you dont build as much pressure. I've seen supercharged and intercooled vehicles make MORE power when the intercooler was just removed all together! The restriction cost more power than having higher IAT

There is definately a line where Pressure drop outweighs temperature benefits

Those cars are an exception, not a rule.

Trying to push any signifigant amount of boost out of a roots blower is going to require an intercooler. I don't think you would be happy with an unintercooled S/C on 8 psi, making under 200whp.
