? about Stage 2

I got my stage 2 installed and reflashed at the dealership. Now when I get on it it boggs HARD once I hit 10psi in 2nd. Does anyone have any hints. I am going get my friend to hook it up to HP tuners to see what the settings are. We took the stock settings and took the settings from a local Stage 2 reflash.

Sounds like there is a problem... Take it back to them. It sounds like they messed it up.

I installed it cause it was pretty straight forward but I don't know if they did the reflash right. I asked if they had ever done any before and they said yes but that guy was off that day. I wonder if the reflash was actually done or if they just did it back with a new stock reflash like a TSB.

Read this post. If you have your vin you can check to see if it was reflashed.

Okay i checked that link and I have the reflash. But when I took it out last night and my friend and I hooked it up to HP tuners we found the injector cycle was working at over 100% at some points. Anybody know what can cause it because it was running up to 123% at somepoints in 2nd gear.

Your stage kit had injectors to install right? I've heard of some people advertising the stage 1 to stage 2 UPGRADE kit as a complete stage 2 kit. 123% IDC's sound like what you would get on the stock 34# injectors with a stage 2 pulley . GL

I bought the kit from Crate Engine Depot so yeah I am 99% that the kit is right.

If you installed the kiy yourself, just use HPTuners and have the car tuned. The GM tune is not all that.

QFT, as long as you are not worried about the warrenty (and since you did the install yourself you must not be) i would say go ahead and use HPtuners. even if you were not having any problems you would still get alot more power out of a custom tune then a stock stage 2 tune.

Yeah there is a guy locally that really knows how to tune them and really how much can GM help since they can't really mess with the fuel curves anyway.

I'm his friend with HPT. I have downloaded his stage 2 reflash as well as another SS/SC stage 2 reflash. We compared the 2. Both are very different. Bruski's reflash has much more fuel going in than the other guys stage 2. Lastnight I copied the fuel tables of the other stage 2 and put it in Bruski's SS. I drove the car around and datalogged. Car seemed to drive much better but ionjector duty cycle is way high!!! I know he has different injectors because I have his stock ones in my 01 cavalier. I know GM likes to run there cars extra rich for safety. I told him a good tune is the best thing. He was planning on getting the car tuned localy, but I still wonder if a good tune will bring the injector duty cycle down that much.

Nice Z-24's . I had the exact same color blue as your blue one , i sure miss that color . Mine was an 02 and was kind of a weird car. It had the LS sport ground effects with front bumper extension along with the LS sport chrome 5 spoke wheels from the factory... But was a Z-24 with an LD-9 .

Good luck figuring out the IDC's on that SS, thats a weird one. If it is super rich then when you lean it up the IDC's should come down right? What kind of AFR is it running?

How fast are you going when you are at 10psi. I mean if you are doing 45mph it shouldnt be bogging at 10 psi, but if you are doing 15 mph and you floor it, it should bog...IMO

Thanks.
Currently do not have a wideband on it. Only reason we put the other fuel file on it is because it was on a SS with a stage pulley and stage 2 reflash so we knew it was safe to run.

I know what your saying but when you are dealing with belt driven super chargers boost builds as RPM's do. Takes power to make power.

Yeah I am only running at 2nd gear about 4K and hitting 10psi when it bogs HARD. So far the other fuel file from the other SS reflash has helped alot except at idle it is very unsteady.
