Arrow AEM CAI installed

Installed my AEM CAI yesterday and absolutely love it. It added awsome gains to the overall power of the vehicle ( I NOTICEABLY spin the wheels more so in second than before the CAI ), the exhaust now gargles, it makes an awsome sucking noise when revved, and the supercharger is insanely loud. Best of all, theres NO CEL!

The only complaint I have with it is the instructions, and the coolant temp is higher at idle/neutral. I dont know if anyone else has this problem or not, but my coolant temp was close to the 190+ F while idling in traffic. Is this normal for anyone else??

Anyways, Ill post a dyno up asap, aswell as a how-to, and a video(s) comparison of a stock SS/SC vs mine

No pics during the install?? BOOOO!!

Is that the full CAI or is it just the piece that replaces the stock airbox?

Cool, looks nice and easy to install. I think I prefer the full intake though. They look a lot better than the stock plumbing. That's a good sleeper intake though!

i don't think that's sarcasm....seriously 187 bucks for that small thing? A full Injen CAI costs 220 shipped....sorry man but a full Intake is better IMO.

But if your going for the stock/sleeper look, can't beat it!

Is AEM freakin joking? I cant believe they sold that with making it a full pipe!! I love AEM but wow they are freaking retarded if thats all they gave you. I thought the one for the RL was small that doesnt even mount to the throttle body OMG I would return that crap. You cant even tell its an aftermarket intake
I'm a gianormous AEM fan and im pizzled at them right now

Yeah , I like it too. It prob sounds just as loud as my Injen, and I can keep the engine bay looking stock...but then again, I like chrome only under the hood

I like it because it looks stock from above. I'm also looking forward to your dyno, sound clips and check engine light progress.

I'd be surprised if you gained more than 5-6 hp out of that. I don't understand why a company would just make tubing that's 3 inches long and then go sell it for $160-170. It's either a rip off or they know something that we don't.

I also have another theory. Everyone with CAI's were getting CEL's. Most injens didn't throw them, but some of those even did. What I think is that they will eventually make the full intake (the second piece) but they are just trying to make it right so that we don't get CEL's...I don't know, it's just a theory.

Thanks for the input guys. Just wanted to let everyone know, one of the main reasons I bought it was for the AEM claims of more horse power additive than typhoon and no CEL.

Besides that, it was an very easy install ( other than removing that damn MAF sensor from the stock air box, and taking the air box out ). Didnt have to modify anything, fit in there perfectly.

Im probably going to have vids of it posted later today. Gonna see if my friend will race me in his stock SS/SC and get it on tape. Ill keep you guys posted.

Better yet what is wrong with stock CAI. Just take off the bottom cover and attach a K&N cone filter for $50.00 and your done. you cant tell me the air travels better in a metal pipe. I am not a sheep, and I will dyno it to prove my point. Then I will know for sure. I just have hard time swallowing that this is better than just putting on a cone filter and leave the cover off.

Still won't stop a CEL....

I did that with the K&N filter and got a CEL. No suck light since the first few days of having the injen intake.

AEM dry filter won't give a CEL.
