when you look down a piece of pipe, you will find that the 10 degree angle on the 02 sensor itself is from looking down the pipe.

it's so you don't get condensation of the tip which will eventually mess up the sensor

Ok, all you have to do it make sure the sensor goes into the top half of the pipe so the tip of the sensor inside the DP is pointing towards the ground, it doesn't need to be exactly 10 degrees. It needs to point down so that condensation doesn't build up in the sensor.

Oh okay, so gravity can take effect and let the "condensation" drain? So dont have it directly on the side, have it up just alitlle?

Also, what do I do if metal shavings get into the Cat? Is there anyway I can avoid this?

Your more than likely going to have to take the DP out to get the hole drilled and the bung welded in. When you drill the hole, just turn the pipe on end so the shavings fall out. Taking it out will make life a hell of a lot easier.

Cut it off and re-weld it?? I don't know dude, I don't see how your going to be able to properly weld in a bung with the DP still on the car.

The downpipe will have to come out for this. You will however need to mark and double check the clearence where you are going to put the sensor due to it's length and wiring. It has to be at an angle about 10* up from the horizontal centerline of the pipe. The reason is so that the condensation doesn't build up in the sensor causing inaccurate readings. Drill a for the bung with the appropriate size. Weld or have the bung welded in. (Local muffler shop can do it in a minute or two if you don't have a welder.) Reinstall the downpipe with new gaskets as an exhaust leak will cause inaccurate readings as well. Hook up all the wires, I suggest a "Add-a-circuit" from the autoparts store for you power wire hooked up into the fuse panel on the passenger side center console panel so it only comes on when the car is turned on, and you'll be up an running. PM me if you need more help bro. I've had to do this in a couple of different cars now.

Go to the parts store. In the exhaust section they sell a metallic gasket with two flanges for 3" pipe. Take the car to an exhaust shop and have them cut the downpipe to install the 3 bolt flanges/gasket and weld in the bung while they're at it. Have them double check the clearence with the sensor since they'll be in there. Thus, you can take it back out at a later date if necessary, and you'll get a great seal still.

Yup, unfortunately that is what must be done. It'll be a lot easier in the future though.
