AEM vs. Injen
Yes, search is my friend, and yes, I tryed. But I'm finding conflicting numbers between the intake thread on here, and a couple of the different vendors. So, once and for all, which one gives better performance numbers, and on a less important note, how's the sound for each?

The Injen uses MR Technology which is sposed to net you optimal hp/tq for the car its on.
ive heard nothing but goof things of the injen.
Ive got a sale going on right now, http://www.tntautosport.com/index.ph...&products_id=5

actually your site is the reason I'm asking...the numbers you show is what cobalt-addiction and the official intake thread here show for the AEM.

So I'm trying to figure out which of you is right

I got Injen and I love it, the AEM one is just a small piece you put on the the end of your stock intake pipeing. The Injen one is a full piece and it looks awsome. I would reccommend the Injen not only because it looks like you have an aftermarket intake on the car. But because Injen has better R&D as far as in concerned.

shiney pipe. . make's your engine look good. if the AEM had a nice, full pipe, then it'd be GREAT! i mean, i love my AEM cause of my dry-flow filter, but i'd like to have a shiny pipe tho. lol

Yeah get whichever is on sale. As far as numbers go, an intake alone isn't going to net you all that much gains but it is a great supporting mods for most other things you decide to do later on.
AEM: Looks stock (good for warranty because its not an obvious aftermarket part, bad if you want the aftermarket look in your engine bay), dryflow filter so you dont have to use an oiled one, typically cheaper. Works great for me so far and I havent heard a single issue with them especially concerning fitment.
Injen: Looks aftermarket because of piping (again, can be either a pro or a con), oiled filter for supposedly better filtration but may cause CEL, known to have fitment issues but these issues were supposed to be fixed with the new model intakes.
Whatever you choose to get you should be happy with. Personally I would probably say about 2-4whp gains from an intake but others may argue more. SC Whine FTW

Here is the best thing to do.. go and buy you the injen intake system and replace the injen filter w/ aem's dry-flow filter, those seem like they give you the best results. Hope that helps.

I've got the injen and I love it. Theres a link to a dyno run with it so you can hear the whine in my signature (click went to the dyno)
It took a bit of work to get it in right and make it fit, but since then I have had zero problems with it. I also have a hydroshield for piece of mind.

i have the AEM and i love it. I dont see anything wrong with the injen but ive read a few posts about fitment problems which could suck. The bottom line is the AEM wont void warrenty because it uses an oil-less filter so there is no chance of the oil messing up the MAF sensor. And yes we dont have a shiny pipe, but honestly i dont care we have the whine either way and i love that whine.
