AFR gauge Q, im prepared to be trolled

"Its useless sell it" <---- I know, but hey, ill admit it is useless and all I want is a light show until I go the interceptor route....I have a digital AFR gauge from glowshift. A friend of mine hooked it all up so it has power and reads "20.0" He spliced it into the purple wire coming off the O2 sensor, and got no fluctuation in the gauge. I read a pretty big thread for years ago on here and still got no answer. So, does anyone know what wire to tap into to get the gauge to give me a reading? Please...I know it doesnt do much, but after all the hassle putting it in, i figured I atleast want the dang thing to read something! Thanks for the input!

I'm prettt sure you need to add another bung..... can't just splice into that wire & get a reading

Um, first, an AFR gauge is really important for tuning.

And as said, you have to add a bung to get an actual reading.

Thanks for the input! Okay, so add another bung. What then would I put in the bung? It only came with a wire to splice into oxygen sensor wire, might I add, I have a trans temp sensor with a wire, could I soldier that to the afr wire and put that in the bung?

Wait, id like to add this is a narrowband afr not a wideband. SO don't I just tap into a wire?

Oh jesus.. You'll need an o2 sensor to stick in the bung.. the o2 sensor will plug into the bakc of your gauge.. talk to whoever made your gauge

Thanks tstone. But like I said its a narrowband, less accurate, all it does is tap into a wire, wide bands use an additional bung...I just need to know what wire to tap into.

You might be on your own here. There aren't many people who waste their time and money to install a narrowband o2 gauge

Even if you connect that to the right wire, itll never read correctly. Have you ever watched o2 readings on HPTuners? they are all over the map and mean almost nothing for tuning purposes.

Dude you have a narrowband, it uses ur precat o2 sensor to get the reading. There's 4 wires on a o2 sensor, your friend probably tapped in the input wire instead of the output signal wire. Just tap it into the other wire...

You DONT need another bung or sensor, thats only for a wideband sensor kit which comes with a sensor already.

That's your answer, been there done that, have more Q's ? Pm me
