afr stock.

so ive been trying to learna s much as possible about tuning and stuff and ive been reading were alot of poeple on here say gm has a Safe tune thats crappy..from what i understand a safe tune is being rich..(11.5-11.8) right??? well then why is the target afr 14.7.1??? i hookup the scan tool (tech 2 ) and check the afr (target) and it says 14.7 and will adjust everything to keep around 14.7.1.......thats the perfect afr.

14.7 is the perfect afr chemical wise for driving around under normal conditions aka city and highway driving. But when you stomp on the gas and go wot (Wide open Thorttle aka foot to the floor) you are putting alot of stress on the engine and pushing it harder as the cylinder temps rise the possiblity of knock raises with it. So at wot we want the afr to be 11 to 11.8ish.

So just a recap

14.7 = normal everday driving
11.X = When the foots to the floor

Considering the Stage 2 tune calls for 10.8 yes 11.5 is not that rich

my stage 2 was also like 10.3 or so... way to rich
