aftermarket boost gauge?

I was looking to get a aftermarket boost gauge but I was wondering before I pulled the stock one out. Does it have a vaccum line in the back on the gauge with 2 or 3 wires like most of em?

Has wires, its not a mechanical gauge. You'll have to run a vac line for a mechanical one.

So if the aftermarket gauge I get is electrical it will go right in with only splicing the wires correct?

How is the stock boost gauge mounted to the pillar?

2 reasons. I read on several occassions when the stock boost gauge was off. Also the one ima getting is digital. So for example if my boost is over 15 but below 20 or in bewteen a lil notch. I will know what I really boost at without having to estimate

If you want that functionality, get an Aeroforce Interceptor. IIRC it just sits in there, not screwed down. You take out the bolt behind the "airbag" cap, pull the pillar out, and disconnect the plug from the back. I could be wrong though, its been a while since I put in my interceptor
