Air filter no FIT.

Anyone go to grab a air filter from any of the auto parts stores...only to get home and find out they don't fit?

I got 2 - 1 from autozone..went to another parts store...same thing.
it's too big....too wide..but won't fit over the round part that is suppose to go into the filter...and too tall...so you can't fit the base back on..

I was gonna order the ac delco from crate engine depot...but i'm afraid it will do that same...because it looks like the same filter....from the pick anyway....could be smaller I guess so it would fit...but I never want to order something unless I know it's gonna work.

and I can't shell out the $40 right now to get the aem filter..."which is what I would rather have...." but oh well.

if you are lookin to replace the filter , i would just get a cone style one and leave the base of off the airbox
but a replacement filter for the cobalt should fit properly if you want to keep the base on

well I went to another parts store last night...
and the wix looks like it is designed correctly but all the rest arn't
because of that secondary ring that is in our box won't let the others go all the way in, the wix was the only one that had that designed into it to accept that part...
I do really need to just get a new aem dry flow in there.

yea, if i were you i would just pick up a cone style, or a dryflow filter and leave the base off, that way you get some nice loud supercharger whine to
