Not true, i have a very rare 2007, it has recaro seats and limited slip, and from goin from my 05 without g85 to my 07 with it, i can say it makes a world of difference, and to those who say it doesnt in a straight line havent driven both.

Luckily my IRL doesn't need the G85 package to get the recaro's. All i don't have is the LSD which should have been standard anyway.

I dunno, I'll probably ge flamed for this, but oh well....In my opinion, it isn't that big of a deal. I've never had LSD in any car I've driven in a performance environment, so I kinda learned how to adpat it to my drivin style I guess. I went and drovemy fried's cobalt, with a G85 and identical mods to mine, and honestly, the difference to me was negligable at best, but like I said, I had to adapt to not having one when I learned how to drive under performance conditions, so it could just be me. I raced my friend wo had the g85 many a time, and even he would tell I could still beat him through the turns, and match him on the straights, so all in all, it once again comes down to a driver's ability I guess.

From a dig the LSD will play the biggest part. Should pull .1-.2 better 60ft's.

Exactly, i 60ft better in my STOCK 07 with g85, then i did with my moded 05 without g85 when i had it. from going from those two cars it makes a differnce weather people want to admitt or not, or to make themself feel better because they didnt get it, i can warm up both drag-radials, hook better, less torque steer to one side, pull into turns, i mean the list goes on, if you have the option to get it, then get it, every review of this car from car and driver and the rest says do not get this car without lsd.

yea in the twisties also, instead of the insde wheel spining, the lsd really pulls you through turns.

Finding a new one is impossible I'd imagine. I see you're from Ontario. I just picked up an 07 with the g85 last week, and at that time, there were only 2 left in ontario with that option Good luck man.

I'm not trying to debate here, all I said was to me, personaly, it didn't make that big of a deal. Doesn't make me right, wrong, special or otherwise, just makes me the driver I am, for better or worse, simple as that. I do well with what I have, nd it works for me, doesn't mean it works for everyone. We all have our styles, mne doesn't recquire an lsd, is that an issue? Granted, I took HPD courses, nd Im sure for most people, a good lsd is a god send, I don't discount them at all.

I love my G85 and if you plan on making big power and road racing/autocrossing the lsd is essential.

For all you guys talking about the Recaro's can you post a pic of them? I have an 07 and I bought it late, it wasn't an option for me and I want to see what I missed out on

Get the recaros and G85 if you can. I know that you cannot get the recaros in the 07.

Biggest problems guys is not the price of 1500$ on top of the price its finding the one with the options and colours I want with a LSD...obviously I'd take it if was on the exact option/coloured car i want but what I am wondering will i regret it if for example I pick a black one without LSD while there was a yellow one with LSD and Recaro seats....Thanks for all the input guys but you all seem to be acting like I am purchasing a new one and am just trying to decide on wut options to get, im buying pre owned so I cant just choose wuts on the car...

My 06 SS has G85. The seats are nice, but i have found on long drives they aren't so comfy ! As for the LSD. I can't really see any great difference. But then again i have never driven any other SS Balts !

I hate these "G85 is the **** threads"! I really wish I knew what that package was when I got mine but then again when I looked into there was only a silver with blue inserts that had it. Blue inserts look like ass imo. There is a yellow 07 with recaros and lsd at a dealership hiding behind a bunch of silverados with no price tag. I want it but mine has been good enough to me to trade in.

Only you can decide whether the LSD is important to the way you will use your car. If you're not going to mod it or run it hard you won't miss it.
You've got lots of guys giving good info in this thread. Looks like popular opinion is to get LSD if you plan to run it hard at all.

I talked about the disadvantages of not having LSD in my first post a few pages back. That wheelspin irritated me almost every day. I really wish I had gotten the LSD and Recaros. I said in that same post it will cost you about $1500 to add LSD later if you decide you really need it.

One of the reasons I sold my SS/SC was because I didn't have LSD and didn't want to invest that much $$$ to get. It is very important to me with my driving style. I didn't hate the car, I loved it, but having the limited slip would have increased my enjoyment of that SS/SC.

I plan to buy the turbo (LNF) SS/T version that I expect will be out sometime next year. Without LSD it will have even more traction problems than the SS/SC does now. Chevy will be stupid to not put LSD standard in that car.

Yea I really plan to drive it hard, as far as modding goes a few visual mods and stage 2 is where I will stop since the car is plenty fast enough for me but I just want the stage 2 so I can compete with my buddies 350z

I even have a buddy with a g85 with 17" wheels and drag radials, I'm on stock wheels and tires, and I beat him outta the hole.
what u didnt let them know was that it was u doing a 3 honk so u got the jump

oh and i caught up to u by the bottom of second atleast

oh and how bad did i beat u that day???

dont get me wrong u can launch the **** out of ur car but until we do a race with a flagger i dont think u should be judging by that

back on topic but like someone said earlier if your going in a straight line and not spinning the hell out of it its about the same

but all other aspects (like turning ur wheel just a tiny bit) lsd all the way

to clarify... you dont NEED a LSD to spin both tires...

i had an open diff on my Grand Prix, and on my SHO taurus.. both still spun.... but if you jerked the wheel a little bit, only 1 would spin..

sometimes, yes, and open diff will spin both tires... and thats why the LSD is more "suitable" for cornering... but there is no argument that if both tires are spinning equally, that is the maximum traction you will get.
