ALMOST back...

finally got around to pulling my broke trans out today, since this coming week my new one is ready to pick up, I had my options of 3.82 ,4.05 , or 4.45..i ended up going with the 4.05 its been fully rebuilt and has new has upgraded,..crush sleeves, diff bearings, and new forged straight cut gears, and most importantly a brand new quaffie lsd..
price was a little over 4k and I ended up getting free freight shipping that saved me a few hundred cause it was supposed to be done and here 2 weeks ago..
lol im getting good at pulling the trans took me about 3 hours completely by myself.
I attached a vid of the damage I didn't bother tearing it down, from the video if I had to guess spider gear let go.

That price makes more sense, given that they would have to setup the program to cut the gears. Unless the OP is a transmission gearing engineer and has access to CAD and a 4 axis cnc

In fairness to the company involved and myself, who is already second guessing the purchase, the company will remain nameless till the transmission is actually in my possession,i was told it will be at my local freight station to pickup friday,as soon as it is here its going in,old trans is out,and ill be going to the track the following week or 2,all i have left is rear window lexan to go in,and installing my traction bars, neither take very long,i was skeptical of the straight cut gears myself but was told another customer ordered them and couldnt finish paying,so we'll see!

Is that because of the weight?

Radials induce wheel hop, slicks are more forgiving.
