Well today my EFR took a crap. This turbo was converted to a ZFR about 2 months ago. It was on a ZFR setup for amount 2 months or so where it sat still for one of those months due to axle issues.

Not sure whats going on with the early EFR's. My compressor wheel is barely moving currently.


Anyways just wanted to share hope. Time to upgrade and go bigger.

 

Wow. This is really disappointing to keep seeing with these turbos. How much boost were you pushing just out of curiosity?

 

95% of this turbo saw 21ish psi. Last two months or so saw between 26-29psi on E85.

I was just cruising and i heard a pop and lost all boost, thought it was just a pipe but the compresor wheel aint moving at all.

 

God damn. Is the wheel seized from what you can tell so far, or is there a ton of slop if you try to move it up/down, left/right which is basically allowing the wheel to make full contact with the housing?

 

There is good amount of play up and down and its was stuck.

 

You have one of the early efrs right Lars? Even so this is making me think that the wr3 is going to be the way I end up going

 

I'm going BNR. thought about EFR but with all these issues makes me want to stay away

 

I bought this EFR after they were on the market for two weeks. So yes its one of the first out.

Gives me an excust to change the turbo on it. I need more than what this EFR was giving me on E85 and 29psi.

**** happens. Time to upgrade. So new manifold, precision wastegate new turbo and good to go again.

Wont support what i want.

if you notice though, its the original ones that are going bad. however it does make me want to lean towards another turbo also...........

 

Guess we know why there was such a hold up on them now. Didn't donkey's center go bad taking out the turbine wheel

True. They are mostly first run turbos.

 

yep yep, before they came out with the issue fixed.

 

what was the issue?

 

no idear lol. all i know is i keep hearing about how the first few are the ones that have been taking a **** and i guess they made it all better now haha

lars care to chime in? were most of the problem ones bad cuz of the wheel?

 

Looks like the last 3 ive seen were CHRA failures.
