any 06 modded vs. 05 modded

it seems like the stock 06's have more power stock than the 05's. Which sucks for me and my 05 redline. What i was wondering if anyone knows how a modded 05 compares to a modded 06. I imagine the difference is in the ecu and tune. For example would a gm stage 2 06 be faster than 05 gm stage?

That's BS! My local dyno has dyno'd 3 completely stock SS/SC's. Two were '06s and one was an '05 (mine)

The 06's put down 201hp and 219hp and my '05 put down 214hp. The guy running the dyno said it was milage that made the difference. The 06 that put down 201 was brand new, mine had 10,000 kms and the '06 that put down 219 had 20,000 kms.

06's being more powerful than 05's is an URBAN LEGEND!

The Stage Kit reflashes reset the ECU so an 06 w/ Stage 1 = 05 w/ Stage 1.

I have a 2006 Cobalt SS SC and my Girlfriend has a 2005 Redline. There is a distinct difference between the vehicles, I would have thought that they would have been closer in performance. We purchased both about a week ago and the SS will flat walk the Redline. Both have the same exact milage. I do notice that the SS has a very touchy throttle and clutch compared to the Redline too.

I had a chance to race a Porche Boxster S with the SS the other day through 2 lights from a dig and 1 time from a 20 mph roll. I smoked him everytime! I didnt think I was going to win.

I plan to do the GM Stage 2, Header/Exhaust and K&N Intake next month to the SS first.

Hopefully I will get my 06 baselined before I start modding to have some more for comparison. And if I do it will be on the same dyno that SSpartan used for his baseline. So that would offer a good comparison. Only problem will be that I haven't put many miles on it yet. Only 1500 as of today.

When I get my CAI in I wan't to do a before and after to test the claimed gains.
