It wont cost 100k to t-turbo a cobalt. At most it would probably be 10-15k.

Only reason to Twin turbo a 4 banger would be if it was a V or H 4.... like a WRX but even those are singles! There isn't enough reason to do a TT setup. Not enough pressure behind 2 cyl to get one turbo spinning decently. You would have to compound charge (super AND turbo) to get rid of the horrendous lag of the TT setup on a 4. Not saying its not do-able but definately NOT worth the money. Maybe for a show only car but not road worthy. My HHR has twice the room between the engine and firewall as the cobys and sats do and I still don't see enough reason to try this. Just a waste of time unless you are doing it for something like SEMA or HIN.....

You would do it to be different and to make more power. It's not about being practical or whatever.

I like the idea of twin charging the cobalt but twin turbo seems kind of goofy. I could understand if you are shooting for some enormous power goal like 1000hp because you would need sequencials to squelch the turbo lag but other then that a single turbo or a twin charged system should be very effective.

One good reason to tt would be to have one small turbo to spool the big one, and it's not going to cost 10-15k to turbo the cobalt, do some research, your looking at 10-15 with a built motor and turbo maybe.

I should have specified. I was referring to making a tt balt with similar HP as the new tt Porsche coming out ( 600 hp ). That 10-15k should cover the turbos and the rebuild of the engine, tranny, etc.

Cant wait till that t-charge setup comes out. I love the idea of having it scream and woosh at the same time along with a mean sounding exhaust. I dont give a crap if it only puts out 350 horses or so, it will be a very unique setup, unlike all the single turbo 4 bangers out there...Hell, if i wanted bigger power I could always swap out the S/C with a larger one later on.

If you're talking about the twincharged/dual charged setup, don't expect to hear a loud whine. Remember you have a turbocharger before the blower.

Thats ok. Ill just make a bunch of holes in the stock intake tubing to make it a little louder.
