What Plugs w/ S2 + 2.8"
What Plugs w/ S2 + 2.8"
I know this has been discussed before.
BUT:
I currently have the Iridiums (stock step) running w/ my S2 + 2.8". They are gapped at .40" and for the most part the car runs dynamite. I do notice though in the 2k - 3k rpms range the car sort of stutters a little bit, kinda like its building boost, but its not just a straight pull... its a little jerky. But as soon as it hits 3k, it just pulls like a bat out of hell. My friend swears by the AC Delco and going a step colder. But having paid $40 for my 4 iridiums, I am hesitant to get rid of them.
Please drop me some suggestions with support.
Thanks,
Rich

Ok so when I gap and install those zex @ .35"
What am I looking for (feeling for) to know that they need to be gapped at .37"
I guess what I am saying is its hard for me to see the difference between .02" so I don't know what to expect to feel.
Thanks,
Rich

You Wont feel much Difference >>> But like what was said the car will be smoother thru accell!
I ran the 2.8 with stock then coppers >> Was alil Noticeable! But you have to be atuned to your car to Notice!
Astrocrep, I have the NGK iridium gapped at .40, but they are coming out of the car when I return from my deployment. The stock plugs ran better than they do, but I think mine got fowled from a few things that were going on as well. Matty and Rob both rock the Zex plugs I guess, and it got rid of all their knock retard which smooths the car out and eliminates the bucking syndrome sometimes felt.

Yes, and come pre gapped since they are three prong. Rob uses them in his car and I trust his judgement. When I asked, he told me to get the zex. I have had 0 problems with them. You may notice the hesitation diassapear. but until you have something to monitor knock you never know.

they are pre gapped. make sure not to hit mess up the gap on instal. because you need a special gapper since they have multiple diodes

The bucking is actually due to the stage tune, HPT got rid of that.
Yah get the zex or bkr7e and just check the gaps but they are almost always pre gaped at .035
.035 is the best gap to run in our motors especialy considering that with boost our effective CR is about 20-1.

I just had my Stage 2 with the Pulley Boys 2.8" 3 days ago, I used the NGK copper plugs gapped at 0.039 and it works great no hesitation or pinging, great upgrade really seems to shorten up 2nd gear, car pulls strong
