I've said this countless times before...

Your tune will dictate how safe it is. That goes for any modifications.

like Bika, it depends on the tune...but with a 2.6 pulley, u are pushing it...drop to a 2.8 and a 30-50shot and get a good tune.

yeah i know. im a broken record on this dea.l im just wondering if theres any way i can do it even with a realy small shot i know you said theres to much cylinder pressure. but how can i find out for sure how much cylinder pressure there is and why is a 2.6 not safe when there isnt a whole lot of diffrence from a 2.7.

I wouldn't run nitrous on anything smaller than a 2.8 pulley. Nitrous hits completely different than boost. Boost ramps in. Nitrous is flowing at 1,100+psi and hits that cylinder really fast. I'm just letting you know what would be safe

^^ this

OP

2.6 pulley and a 25-35 shot if you do a little reading will do squat.

Pulley up to a 2.9-3.1 and throw a 75 shot or greater. Cbodner, Italianjoe, and hungryciphippo provided excellent results on nitrous if you search.

Good rule of thumb to go by is for every 50 shot, 2-4 degrees of timing should be taken away.

Do not run a lean afr

Cylinder pressure will increase on nitrous

Toooodles...

Run a window switch and get a good tune on it and you will be fine.

I run a 50 shot of nitrous on a 2.6" with an aggressive tune. But that does not mean that everyone can do it.

Custom tunes are what turns LSJs from fun to drive to quick. Anyone driving around on a stock or aftermarket flash has no clue what their car could actually feel like...

This is good advise. Run a little bigger pulley and a bigger shot of nitrous for safety.

True. Your not even going to feel a 25-35 shot...

Its easy. All it takes is a good VCM scanner configuration and all the work is done for you.

Nope, in truth us tuners are little more than Han Solos, "Cause no mystical energy field controls my destiny. It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense."

Woops.

Truth be told. A truly good tuner will knock your socks off with the power and fuel mileage he can gain over your already good tune. And even a tuner who understands what the computer is actually doing and can think out of the box to basically feed the computer lies to get it to do what you want can do some fun things that Joe Smoe with a good config file didnt even thing were possible.

Nitrous is Awsome!
Nitrous don't blow the engine unless you have a crappy tuner. Myself and others have safely ran 100-150+ wet shots with proper tuning. Anytime you add nitrous you want to decrease your timing. I think my car was damn near 0 timing on juice. Running e85 sometimes e-100 and spraying methanol. As long as there is no knock retard you are good. My brother is running a 250 -300 shot on his built zo6 with no issues other than no traction. Its all in the tuning for most cars. With my gas tune i was getting 49mpg @60mph and 33.6 @80mph all thanks to my tuner!
