anyone try transmission cooler in line with stock heat exchanger?
Just wondering if anybody's tried to see whether or not it decreased temps. Those cobra Hex are a bit of a pain to find. I'm seriously considering the cxracing one, but not sure about long term reliablity. To me a hex is a hex is a hex. If we can find an efficient enough transmission cooler, I think it might work.

If I could find somebody in the area to record my before and after IAT's I would do it for sure. Who's near Knoxville? Or is there an easy way for me to do that myself? Anyone have specs on the cobra hex?

i'd think the input and outputs would be too small in diameter and would increase pressures and reduce the pump performance if one of these were to be used. I did think of using a transmission cooler hooked up to the bleeder line then to the option B reservoir though.

And yes you're right lopsided and jockey, I was looking at the ID/OD for the trans coolers and I thought maybe I would find a 1/2 one. Oil cooler would be pretty good too. But you make a good point, flow rates has a lot to do with it in order to have proper heat transfer. But then again if you're stepping from 1/2 to 3/8, depending on the flow rates it may not affect it that much. However, I don't have enough data to make that assumption.
Motorcycle radiator maybe?
The bleeder line idea is pretty good too. If you think of it as a closed loop system, if you take heat out anywhere in the system it would lower the overall temperature of the system even though it may not be as efficient.
I should change the name of this to "any other heat exchanger besides cobra heat exchanger.".
Oh, just read the thread for the cobra hex again, so the ID and OD on that is 3/4"?
