Apr torque help head studs

So I have arp head studs ... I can't find this information anywhere , what do you torque them to putting them into the block itself ... I know the nuts are 75lbs but how much when putting them into the block?

The studs themselves should only be put in hand tight. The nuts go to 80 ft/lbs in steps, such as 30/60/80. (This means torque all of them to 30, then all of them to 60, then all of them to 80 in a rotating alternating pattern starting from the middle working your way out. And yes, on this forum, it needs to be said.)

There is no torque value for the studs at all, just thread them in until they are snug. If you had to put a number, it would be only a couple in/lbs most likely.

Bottom them out then back off a quarter turn, I,ve done 2 sets and the first set didn't have all 10 seated at the same height measured off the deck so snug is fine so long as they bottom out.

Yeah there may be slight variation in blocks so the hole may not be the same depth on all 10 of them. It really won't matter, you still want them sorta secured in the block, enough that so they won't move while finishing up the installation. Once you torque them down they aren't going to go anywhere anyway.
