Assessing my m62 supercharger
Assessing my m62 supercharger
I started pulling the engine parts from the trunk and got to looking at the supercharger and the rotors, does anyone have pictures of what their rotors look like through the opening?
Also, should the rotors spin absolutely freely when I turn the pulley?

They wont spin freely like spinning a ball bearing turbo, but they should not be binding up. If you turn the rotors and it sounds like sand spinning, or you feel a knock back and forth if you blip the pulley fast in either direction, you need to either A) disassemble and clean out the supercharger from dirt and grime or B) replace the coupler in the snout. Any sort of high mileage blower I have seen can be to some degree...pretty nasty.
